SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Got it!!!
Impressions:
Lots of good noise. Kind of a resonant rumble at low speed and a roar, although not deafening, at higher RPMs.
Very smooth plush ride for such a performance car. Much smoother than my old R129 SL500.
With no squat on acceleration or body roll, speed is deceptive. Very easy to find yourself at triple digits.

It's interesting how the whole digital camera/internet/PC thing has problems reproducing the colour of berry red. On my monitor, your seats almost look pink which of course they are not. I'll look forward to hearing your driving impressions. Me? I'm completely hooked, it's just a pity we're heading into winter in the northern hemisphere!

Was supposed to pick up euro del. before Thanksgiving. Placed my order and deposit and it took 3 weeks for them to tell me the order was rejected by euro del. manager. Then it took another 3 weeks to get my deposit back.

Such a beautiful car and you're parking it on gravel? hehe
Enjoy the car =)
I've ordered mine with all available options too. Mine differs from yours only by the leather interior {charcoal}
and trim {aluminum}..
Hope mine is as outstanding as yours is!!
What a magnificant automobile. Congrats!! Enjoy it in good health.
P.S. If you don't mind sharing with us .... What was the total price for your new beauty??
Thanx

55-BEAR, I went back and forth on distronic exactly because of the emblem. In the end I’m glad I got it because like other aspects of the car, it looks better in person than in pictures. I particularly think the black plastic disk looks best with a black car.
As you can see, the car is now out of danger, having been removed from the nasty gravel and placed onto a smooth concrete surface. No permanent damage was sustained.
The new car’s sticker was $128,235. I believe I was the first at my dealer to pay MSRP – thank you Flagship Motorcars, you came through just as you said you would. Here it is with its slightly jealous older brother.

I've had to handle the reaction of my MSO to my car as well. She hates the 355, finds the SL600 stodgy compared to her Impreza but has now formally staked her claim for an SL. "I don't need the SL55, an SL500 would do." I'm sure it would. Unfortunately, my spoiling tactic of letting her drive the SL600 by way of compensation has only highlighted to her how much of an improvement the SL55 is. Tactical mistake on my part.
