Removing the limiter?? 2003 sl55

1. if i get the limiter removed are there any necessary upgrades that I HAVE to do for driving higher than normal speeds?
2. can anyone recommend an MB tech in the New Jersey area that specializes in upgrades?

I'm still fairly new so excuse me for not knowing lol

Inflate your tires an average of 4psi over the recommended pressure for 100+MPH driving. Also, for high speeds, I recommend NOT lowering your car. The factory aerodynamics should be maintained (air pressure both above and below your car) for the best possible results.

I'm in NJ but I don't know of a tech that can just remove the limiter. You're probably best off with an ECU upgrade that removes the limiter.

I'd suggest checking the speed rating on your tires. (Y) is the highest rating, indicating tested speeds above 186 MPH. Plain Y is next highest: up to 186 MPH. More detailed information is available from forum sponsor Tire Rack: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=35

I Must recommend Adam at EuroElites... Now the North American Distrubutor of EVOTECH in Germany.

Oliver the tuner, will not only remove the limiter, he will correct for a Mercedes update that robbed a lot of power from your motor... the Dreaded Torque Load Limiter update.

My car was a dog after this... And Adam completely cured it.

So not only will your car be de-limited, it will correct for MB's update power loss, and give you a little extra power than when it was stock.
