Anyone hear of any discounts on 2008 SL55's ?? With the SL63 now announced, its improvements and 7 speed auto i would think heavy discounting. I drove a friends 2003 SL55 and was impressed.
BTW just sold my 2005 911 ...would consider a SL55 but not at 135k ...at that price would probably go with 911 Turbo Cab.
Anyone buy a 08 SL55 ??

I believe "Teeth" recently purchased an '08 SL55 AMG.
I would imagine there would be some great discounts up for grabs on '08 inventory. Weather you get an SL55 discounted or not, it's still worth it in my book. I guess it all depends if you will keep it or trade it out later. I'm so pleased with mine, I'll never sell it.

My source told me on Thursday that within one to two months the 08's will be discounted 12-20k off sticker. We shall see.

No reason to pick up a SL55 right now. Porsche Turbo's are great buys right now at MSRP or below. Cabs I believe are fetching a premium (blame beckham)

here's the latest on incentives from edmunds:
Marketing Support
Cash to Dealer $12000
start 02/01/2008
end 02/29/2008
Restrictions
Dealer cash is available on vehicles in dealer's inventory. Please see your local dealer for details.
Comments
Dealer participation may vary. Incentives and Rebates are provided subject to the terms of our Visitor Agreement.
add to that approximately 6.5% of the sticker for the GP the dealership gets up front to play with, which would be 8775 on a 135000 sticker, and you have nearly a 21000 discount readily available.
i got that marketing support plus 6.5% deal for my girlfriend on a 110000 sticker SL550 at what was perhaps the least negotiable south florida dealership after a couple of hours of surprisingly pleasant conversation. (she ultimately got a BMW 650 convertible because she knew she would have been unhappy with the SL550 the moment the facelifted SL showed up next to her car.)
i hope you can do even better than i did.

I purchased an '08 in late December and received $19,000 off MSRP. Love the car.

The SL63 will have a lot more to offer over the 08 SL55's... new nav sys, updated front and rear, DSG tranny (is it?) with LC and I'm guessing some super quick shifts.Originally Posted by mbinct

I'd go for 30k off MSRP if not more if I was going for an 08...

I had a 2006 SL55 with the 030 performance package and loved it! How does the 07 and 08 SL55 with the new throttle body and 510HP compare to the 06 and below. I also wonder how the SL63 will perform with about 70 foot pounds of Tourqe less than the 07 08 SL55AMG
You can find some great deals on low mile (5000 Miles or less) 06 07 SL55 even with the P030 pack $80-110,000 range

Same here. Mine listed for $102,555 and I bought it for $83,500, that was less then what some 2007's were going for. Originally Posted by TomatoMan

I would think a discount of $21,000 would be about right for a 2008 SL55MBWorld Fanatic!

With such low prices on SL65's, you might as well just pay a little more and get that. Performance-wise, the 65 is in a totally different league.

Definately. With such power, I would cry if it sat in the garage. Remember in Germany and northern europe, it's freaking cold along with bad driving conditions, yet, AMGs run wild there all season.. I see no reason why americans would need to fear. With proper care, maintenance, AMGs are quite robust and will last. Just don't try to drive like michael shumacher each time to get behind the wheel. It's a beast.

In January I got $19K off a 2008 SL550, I would think you should get $20K+ off the SL55 based on the added MSRPOriginally Posted by djamer
