Not necessarily. Considering the scratches this could be legit and clean. There are many AMG's for sale on Ebay through dealers/brokers that are $60K and below in all the classes.
I checked the CarFax and Autocheck on several of them and they came up clean. It's the market, that's all for the most part. It is flooded with cars.
On the CLS55, I saw about 5 that were 60k and below. Take it for what it is worth.

Yes they have. I bought my CLS500 about the end of August. Ebay, form a dealer and shipped, it was $53K even with 29K miles on her. All options listed on my sig, except the Ipod Kit.
If I had waited a few months, I could have gotten an CLS55 with 26K miles on it for $59K which was on Ebay a few days ago. Clean as a whistle, black on black, all options except distronic. Yes, they have fallen.
E55's are even lower, this is a buyers market now for AMG's. Get em while they are hot! Do a search for AMG's on Ebay, you will be surprised.
P.S. - These are 06's not 05's!

Looks like our cars are made to keep..... and keep driving! Remember, you don't lose any money until you sell, so just keep it and enjoy it.

precisely why I sold mine 6 months ago for good money. It is going to get worse too. I bet 05's will be 40k by years end. It is a real bad set of circumstances coming together all at once. The economy is tanking, the car is a Mercedes and a new body style was just released.

So true. 12 cylinders tank even faster. Still like my SL55, don't care what the market thinks. Got one Porsche that is still keeping it's value+, and I am keeping it too.

These guys are legit. I bought my sl600 from them. They are a true wholesale dealer. They make a little on each car and that is why they sell more. When I picked mine up, there was 4 others picking up their new vehicles. Never had a problem except a wheel wobble when I first bought and they quickly resolved and covered the cost. This place is a couple hours from my house and your safe with them. Just my opinion.

Buyer beware with these guys.
I just bought an 03 sl55 from them. In two weeks i have found out that both door panel modules are bad, the seat belt sensors are bad and the error codes had been reset, the center vent control panel system is bad, the car has no cats and the back battery keeps losing its charge and the MAF sensor is going out. Also the codes were reset for that one as well.
None of this was disclosed to me of course. All I can say if your going to buy from them make sure to take the car to the dealership and have a diagnostics run. Of course if the codes have been reset wont tell you much.

That is the probably most reliable source you have.

Neh,
I did a carfax on the car. It didnt show any of those issues. Car fax is really only good for seeing if a car was wrecked. And if you got the cash ive seen people restore a seriously wrecked car and resell it and nothing ever showed up on carfax because the repair shop didnt document it.

In this economy EVERYTHING is dropping like a stone. I was just offered a 07 Sea Ray, stickered at $313K for $160K with low hours.
If resale is the biggest concern, I'd go with 911TT, especially cab. Keep the miles low and you won't lose much.
