Should be getting SL63 mid April
Yeah, so I should have a black on black SL63 sitting in the garage in like 2 or 3 weeks. From what I was told, it's going to be the first SL63 bought in America. I'll give you guys a full write-up and a comparison of this car and the one its replacing, the SL55...and this time, I'll try to follow through with pics. Maybe a group photo of all the blacked out whips too

They said it will be around $140k. They'll sell it for around $2k under sticker. Still waiting for more info, but put down payment and have an allocation for first in the States.

That seems more than fair. When I was at the Audi dealer and saw the $50k mark up on the R8 I about died.

I would not pay 50k over for an R* but its a heck of a car.

May want to chk w/dealer....I was told yest that launch date moved back to May 1 (previously, cars were to be released upon US arrival)....
AFAIK, first SL63 030's for US mkt were built 1-2 wks ago (launch ed: Silver Arrow paint, red leath, blk lacquer instead of cf, all options incl 030, but no Distronic)....a colleague was planning to have his copy airshipped into CA.....until MB changed launch date....now, that first batch of LE's is apparently sitting at port in Germany waiting for a boat....

Yep, the dealer mentioned that and he offered the Launch Edition. But my fam only rolls in black so we opted for a normal one (no distronic or 030) black/black with burl wood. I can't wait to see what the tranny is like.

I'll be waiting anxiously for your review of the tranny. I would like to know how fast and firm the shifts will feel and how the launch control will handle the power

hahaha exactly. when i was looking around for my cl63 the guy at exclusive motorsport offered me a black R8 for 150k used. I was like hell no i am paying that much for an Audi
no offense, i think its a great car but the mark up is ridiculous. I would not mind paying that much for the R8 v10 though

I have a feeling in about 6 months there will be decent discounts on the 09 SL since it really isnt a new model or anything. I compared a Blk on Blk SL63 to my SL a few weeks back...the updated model is sweet but for $140k there are a lot of other cars on my list since Ive had a lot of R230 road time over the last few years.
