Need some help from my fellow AMG friends.
I purchased BiTurboAMG`s SL65 Wheels. Just put them on the car Friday with new rubber. Michelins. PS2`s.
Here is the question.
On the rear we had trouble getting a matched pair of 285/30ZR19`s
so went and put on a pair 295/30ZR19`s after waiting for a week to find the OEM size.
Are these going to rub on my rear wheel lip ? It looks like they may have already made some slight contact but cant be sure. I am going to put some tape on the lip and see if it makes contact and drive it hard this afternoon.
Is anyone running this tire on AMG wheels on a SL55 or SL65 without modification ? Just want to make sure before I kill these new rear tires.
Had the tires mounted at my Benz Dealer and he said I was OK.
Will post some pictures from work on Monday. The car looks awesome with the new wheels and tires. And these I can keep clean without as much elbow grease as those damn turbine wheels that you see on my car in my sig.

might be ok... though i know when running 305's you need to have 25 thickness tires or they will rub. maybe 295's will be ok with 30 though

I have 295's on my SL55, and it is lowered. No problems. The car looks great and handles better!

I am running 295x30x19 PS2's on my sl55. They are mounted on the SL55 performance package wheels that are the same as the 65's. No problems at all.Originally Posted by bltserv

Its likely VERY close on your car. the off-set is ok with a 285 but 295 is pretty close. Originally Posted by bltserv

MB has a document in WIS giving instructions on how to roll rear fenders when using SL65 wheels on a non 65. They feel fender rolling is needed for a 285 on that wheel so a 295 is just that much more aggressive.
I have 295 with 10.5 inch rear wheels and its is fine but the off-set makes the wheel sit a bit more in board than your current set up.
Good Luck.

Your wheels look great, those OEM 19s are some of the finest ever made. Good choice. One thing to complete the look is lose the orange reflectors on the front bumper.Originally Posted by bltserv

Amazing that AMG put 265s on rear with all that torque when M5s come with 285. You'll be far happier now I'm sure and PS2s are the king on rwd high perf cars.

Good point on those refectors. The flash I used in the photo really makes them look tacky. The car would brake loose pretty easy with the old setup
and the fact the tires were down to about 20%. But now it sticks to the road like glue. High speed turns are incredible. And the ride going from the 18 to the 19`s is not as bad as I had worried. Still smooth as silk on the freeway too. Thanks to everyone for the help !!!
