SL65 Extended Warranty?
I'm looking at a used SL65 but the factory warranty is almost up. Looks like some extended warranty companies won't touch the AMG cars (ie. cars direct). Because I'm not the 1st owner, I don't think MB will offer an extended warranty. Is there any extended warranty companies that will cover SL65s and any recommendations?

The 2009 500HP XKR should be here end of the year (according to rumors) if you want to wait. If I do pick up a SL65 it will definately blow away the XKR.

Good evening Lionhead, I am also interested in a V-12 in the Chicagoland area. Have you had any luck in your search? Some of these salesmen around here are something else. It seems like some of them know just about nothing when it comes to 600's or 65's. Have you visited Luxury Motors yet?

Hello rodbuster....I know what you mean about the salespeople not knowing about the V12s. I've been to LM O'Hare and Downers Grove before. The Downers Grove when I was there was like hearding cattle...lol. My friend had a bad experience there but if I find a car I like there I would do my homework before purchasing from them. I've seen a red '06 SL600 at St. Charles MB but it was sold last week, and also an SL65 at Chicago Motor Cars (Carol Stream) but I want lower miles and also Fletcher Jones has an '07 SL600 and '06 SL65 but just haven't had the time to drive into the city. I've also been to Fox Valley Motorcars and D&M Motorsports but they do not have any.

I agree with you about LM. The salesmen I have talked to at Downers and O'hare were both basically clueless about the V-12's. All they seem to know is "Are you ready to buy today" etc. I have heard good and bad about Chicago Motor Cars, I just don't know what to make of that place. It is too bad that there is not a private party car for sale for a good price, the tax bite would be less severe. There is a place called Exotic Motors which gets V-12's on occassion, but I don't think they have anything now. Did you look at the 65 at Chicago MC?

P.S. I would look on ebay and autotrader. You can often get them much cheaper from a private party than from a dealer.
