SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: seperated audio system for SL
Have to raised the floor level of the trunk to get all that stuff in, or are you just making use of the spare wheel well?
In the back seats, I assume you don't use the CD changer any more because access to the rear compartments is removed.
Like the look of the audio gear though.....
Wow, I'm still stunned!

blueSL; The main woofer makes my whole body listen to the
music. The floor level was 2 inch raised and the spare wheel
well is used totally. When I use this seperate audio system , I
can not use MB cd changer. But I have another cd changer at
my own stereo system. The cd/amp set is also detachable.
London Lad; Yes , as you mentioned , water runs off
onto the carpet when the boot is opened after raining.
But the cd/amp case is against that problem.
GMW ; Sub woofer - RMS 400watt . Other ranges - RMS 300watt/channel . Of course the room mirror is vibrating ,
but I can see the back. My another car (S600)'s audio system
makes the boot cover also vibrating .
My next job : I should find a good RF transmitter which will
connect MB FM radio with my own one.

Regarding water running off onto the carpet when opening the boot I used to have this problem with my SLK. A solution was to open the boot slowly giving the water time to drain away through a small channel at the bottom of the window. Can you do this with the SL?
I dont take delivery of my SL55 until next week so cant try yet but this could be a big problem in the UK with so much rain right now.
You know SL55 has a flat tyre repare kit and I don't have
a spare. I believe the repare kit will work. (Did you order
a spare tyre? When I bought my car , it was an option.)
Regarding the water, I also open slowly to minimize the water
flow into the trunk. Another solution is to make a speed and
a sudden stop to blow away rain drops .
I experienced SL55 on last summer of heavy rains( we had a
serious flood) , and the water flow into the trunk can not be a serious problem . So don't worry.
Solutiuon is to have a squeegee in the door pocket to run over the roof before you open.
