I just got back from Darren's house. We didn't run our cars but I did borrow the vbox and did some runs in the same locations he did (in Mexico) and the temperature was the same as well.
Here's the best results of multiple runs. I couldn't get traction at all, I really need to figure out how to launch this thing. But as you can see my 60-130 is smoking. His results are m5board. I don't know if he'll post these results on there as well or not. He's having issues with his car again today so not sure what's going on exactly.
Speed(mph) Time(s)
0-60 04.54
0-100 08.77
60-130 08.62
0-30 02.2
My 50-110 time was 5.64 as well.

He's still having problems with the stroker though so not sure how everything will end up when all is said and done.

I was digging through the vbox file yesterday and saw that I had a run which would qualify as a 1/4 mile as I did a 0-130 run.
According to the vbox data it was:
12.52 ET
122.68 MPH
2.69 60'
Pretty lousy 60'. Digging through the rest of the files where I was doing 0-60 my best 60' was 2.55. I can't launch this thing. Are Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires any good traction wise? That's what's on there now.

A lot of that has to do with the fact that Darren's vbox is not set to do the 1ft roll-out. You can change that setting. I imagine that is worth a good .3-.4seconds for the 60ft time. The Bridgestone Potenza RE 050A were rated pretty good last time I checked. I think with practice and the 1 ft roll-out you can get it down to 1.9s on the street (remember the road you are doing it on isn't prepped).

I did a whole bunch of 0-60 runs. About 15 or so, esp on and off. Best I could do was 4.54 and some as high as 5.5. I didn't get a single launch in without ESP cutting in or bad wheelspin. When I took it to the track at the end of August the best I could cut was a 2.2 60' and trapping 121 with ETs around 12.1. It was about 15 degrees hotter then than itis now. 2 weeks earlier at the same track on my very last run I had a freak 60' of 1.9, which I haven't been able to reproduce, and ran an 11.9 at 119.3 and it was 88 degrees and humid out. Now that's its in the 70s I want to see what it will do. Might need some DRs with the cooler weather.
Honestly, with drag radials it is pretty easy to run good times. Our cars are so difficult to launch on street tires because of the enormous amount of torque at hand. The first time you run with drag radials and immediately hook a huge smile and sense of euphoria will come over you (not exagerating) .... you may never go back to street tires... i

How do you launch your SL? Do you power brake? If so...it doesn't help...I notice the power will end up dipping before going back up again (I think the computer gets confused as to what you are doing). What is your tire pressure?

I've actually never run with DRs. It's something I've always wanted to try. I know some people run with them on the streets but it's getting cold now and will be rainy so probably not a good idea until summer comes back around.

No power braking, just mash and go from idle. I dropped the tire pressure in the rears to 25 psi and also put the suspension in comfort to let it squat more to get more weight transfer to the back.

Being that we know that 0-60 times aren't the end all-be all of determinate of a car's performance, I would be very happy with that 8.62 60-130 time. I would practice some more but until spring/summer rolls around just do the highway roll-ons and 60-130mph runs (in Mexico of course).

For what its worth most (maybe all?) dynos measure torque and then compute horsepower based on torque and RPMs. It'd be pretty hard to measure horsepower directly.
Wikipedia's explanation on how it all works is pretty decent: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyno
If the RPMs aren't correct it's the horsepower numbers that are likely to be incorrect. The torque numbers should be correct, although the RPM scale would be wrong.

Great numbers boss- That's right in line with what my 65 did a while back- about 85 degrees and the car was relatively hot. I was really impressed.....I can't wait to get to the track for some good baseline runs- then the RennTech ECU
