SL ABC Fluid replacement for $650

Gonna try you SL55 boyz as well..

Anyways, my ABC malfunctioned and the dealer is replacing all the parts under warranty except for the ABC fluids which they are asking for $650.
Does this seem reasonable or am I being ripped off?

My dealer quoted $900 for fluid...luckily the 05 SL was under warranty at the time.

Of course it's a rip off. you can probably get it done for under $200 at a local shop. my acura legend cost me $80 to get brake fluid flushed and replaced. process can't be too different from any regular vehicle

$650 or $900 (depending on whose quote you look at) is just for the fluid (9 liters, I think)...the labor, etc is added to that price.

For 650 or 900 they'd better be putting God's c** in your car.

took the car inot the dealer a month or so ago...on my '03 they changed ABC fluid and filter first for like $700, then they did a test and gave the car back to me and asked me to let them know if it still sagged...it did...so now it's getting the valve blocks replaced to fix the problem.

'03 SL55
I have an '03 with roughly 34k miles on it and so far it "seems" fine. How far did your car sag? How apparent was it? Pics?

"thefluid" a.k.a Pentosin (same as the power steering fluid) is $24 per liter retail at the $tealer . So at $650 they are charging for about 30 liters when less than 10 are required....that's ridiculous.

I think us SL55 owners - and especially the early adopters are due for some hefty repair bills in the future. My tyre pressure monitoring has failed, and the dealer wants more than the option cost in the first place...

God Bless Mercedes Extended Care... cost me $5k, but I didn't think twice about it.
