I was in the same boat a week or two ago. I found an 06 with 12,000 miles that I have a deal on. Just waiting on financing.

If you had looked a few more threads down, you would have seen another thread asking just this.
Another member posted these for some of us interested in the same info.

I bought the 11/12/08 car in Atlanta.
Only vary recent sales reflect the market. There is an 07 SL65 on ebay that has not had more than 75000 bid on it an it has 3700 miles on it.My 23k miles 05 SL55 brought 38K ebay.

I need recent auction price for 2005-2006 SL55. Thanks in advance.

Carcommander, did you end up selling yours at 38K? I sent you an email while back asking for details on your SL55.

Yes, I sold it. It was cheap but I am not an SL collector. If I buy at wholesale I don't mind selling at wholesale.

Wow, I wish I saw this thread sooner. I am having difficulty finding similar ones at 45K. I will find out this weekend when I visit couple of local dealers here.

I went down to House of Imports today to look at a 2005 SL55 they had on sale for $52K, it was really nice except the driver side had too much rattle but it is CPO so it will be fixed under warranty. After test driving it, I offered $45K but dealer sort of laughed at my offer. Am I offering too low?

I had that same problem when trying to buy an SL600 or 65. A couple of dealers turned down fair offers on SL600's and SL65. I ultimately got a better deal on an SL65. I got it for less money than a dealer turned down for a same year SL600. There is quite a gulf between the market price and the selling prices right now. Where were you guys when I was selling my SL55. It sat on ebay for a week with a buy it now of 42,000.

Not in my opinion.

Always remember: the car is worth what YOU are willing to pay for it.

The dealer called today while I was in church, do I call back or wait until they call again? I really need the recent auction price for me to make a decision, it will be so much easier if I had that information. SL65 auction price does me no good. Can someone provide the recent aution price for 2005~2006 SL55? Thank you again...

2005 55s 42k avg with 28k miles.

2006 52k.

Get an 05.

Keep in mind that does not include fees and dealer profit.

Best of luck

Paul

Do NOT let this decision be an emotional one...there are lot of great 55's out there...pick your price and hold firm...

Perhaps I'm misreading things, but between the tough economy and the falling prices on these cars, you are the one in control here...not the dealer...
