Vredestein 295/30 ZR19's Fit my SL55?

I have a 2007 SL55 with 285/30 ZR19 98Y XL. I've heard great things about these Vredestein tires. The only problem is they have a 295/30 19VRED 100Y. Can I get by with these tires for rears on my SL55? Please help!

The load rating, speed rating, and diameter all look good, Jim. The question mark is the wheel width. The recommended minimum wheel width for a 295/30-19 tire is 10" and there's a pretty decent chance that your wheels are only 9.5" wide.

So if you have 10" rear wheels, you're all set. If they're 9.5", you'll have a decision to make.

Some guys used underspec'd wheel sizes without complaint. I'm not sure I would. The tire will install on the wheel but the sidewall gets pulled inward in order to reach the narrower wheel. That reduces the performance of the tire and creates some increased risk of things going wrong.

Another option for a 9.5" wheel is Vredestein's 275/35/19 100Y tire. Its load and speed ratings are also fine. It's a little narrower and the diameter is slightly larger (2%) but not enough to cause problems.

Good luck with the decision! If you do run the Vreds, I'd be interested in hearing how you like them.

Strangly enough, the same width (for instance 295) can vary A LOT between different brands.
I can not explain why or how, but that is just a fact...

So how wide Vredesteins 295 are compared to others, I don't know.
The only way to make sure is to try them on...

Good luck!

I have 295/30/20's on my rears and they fit like a glove. But again they are on a 20x11 inch wheel. Should work just fine.

I personally have 315/25-20 on my 11" rear, without any problems what so ever..!

+1 on a 295/25/20 on a 10"wheel. Make sure you have proper offset.

Hey urnext, is it worth the $$$ to go with the pulley and ecu upgrade? Can you share the history of your upgrades, did you do the pulley ecu upgrade first or just you just go all out in one shot?

Picked up a 34k mile 03 sl55, great price and its certified with a 12 month 100k mile warranty. Considering the price i paid im willing to dump the 4k to get the performance im looking for but not if its only worth .4 tenths. Thanks Ed

Speeddoc- your one of the few I've seen that run this size. Does the sidewall look in anyway too tall or "bulky"? Most of us run 25 series as stated here...I'll be runnning this on a 10" rim , and wondering if I should use a spacer to push it out...
