How to tell if your SL55 has the 030 Performance option

Hey guys

I'm currently enjoying my new SL55, however, I'm not sure if it has the 030 Performance package. It's not an essential option for me, however, I think it does have it even though some indicators are contradictory.

It has the 19" AMG wheels
It has the Carbon Fiber Trim inside
It DOES NOT have suede (alcantara) on the steering wheel

Is there any way I can tell the difference just looking at the car? Will get a netstar on the car soon to confirm, but wondering if there are any visual indicators. I know the front fascia is revised, but I cannot tell the difference between the regular one and the 030 one.

Thanks!

030 package has vents in the front bumper like the SL65.

The front fascia is the easiest....

way to tell, but carbon fiber trim is not necessarily an 030 item. Could have been added afterward...My 030 has wood, not carbon fiber or aluminum.
Or, you could get it out on the road and see if it breaks the 155 barrier!

The front facia is the easiest way and in addition the front rotors are 2 piece rotors.; the hats are bolted to the rotor and are not 1 piece.

I think the 030 package had:

Sl65 front bumper cover
Nurburgring calibrated ABC
19" AMG split rim wheels
speed limiter raised to 186mph
composite front brakes

I am pretty sure that is it. The CF interior is a trim option. All 55s have alcantara headliners.

And the steering wheel

in alcantara. Yoyu also forgot limited slip, which you couldn't see from the outside of course.

VIN data

Sharkster,

That Russian site doesn't seem reliable, based on one datapoint. I (correctly) entered the VIN from my 08 SL55 and got this as a result:

1) VIN was misspelled in the request form;
2) VIN was erroneously read from vehicle body or documents;
3) VIN is not of an original vehicle and was forged by criminals;
4) The vehicle was produced in late 2005 or 2006, and is not included yet in our database

That's probably the reason. I didn't know that it only has vehicles before late 2005. It decoded the VIN of my 2004 SL55 perfectly.

Only clear way is to...

get the Master Vehicle inquiry from your MB store. Sounds like it doesn't have 030. I have also found that other site to not be too reliable as well. Helps sometimes tho....
