Question Pricing on 2005 SL55

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and this is my first posting. Hope you guys can help me out.

I'm currently looking at a white '05 SL55 with 50K miles on it. They are going for $48K. What do you guys think about it? Is that a good deal? I'm getting at the dealership by the way.

They said they will Certify it and everything too. Is there anything else I should have them to focus on before I purchase the car?

I have attached some pictures of the car they send me.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks guys.

Manheim wholesale value gives the 05 sl55

condition/price/mileage
Above /$47,608/16,418
Average /$32,835/32,835
Below /$31,118/49,253

There maybe some room to beat them down a little more.

Preblem is that in almost every case (unless you're friends with someone who can purchase at auction); the dealers or private sellers want more than then the auction equivalents. But they are quick to give you auction value on your trade in should you have one - yipes

Too much, that dealer can come down to LOW LOW 40s easily.

What about 2005 SL500 ? I have one and I am thinking about selling it and getting SL55 if its worth selling it now.

I dont think so on this one. Yes Manheim has a bit cheaper prices, and as crazy as I might sound the prices on these cars seemed to bottom out and maybe even rise in certain locations...

I have been watching the market since November, and the latest prices that I know of in terms of CPO ( a bit more) and others I've been watching...

05 Silver - 35k miles @ last Vegas lease return event- $41k
05 Silver- 42k miles @ Manheim riverside- $ 39k
05 white 500- $41k miles @ Manheim riverside- $37k (just throwing this in)

tack on the normal 2-3k for whatever costs are and possible CPO or whatever prices are easily into the mid-40's...

oops just noticed this is an East coast car?? also the white does actually get a bit higher price...

I purchased my SL55 about 6 months ago for $40K with 47K mies on it. Granted my car is an 03' but I have all options except for the distronic. I would assume this car (having been in an accident as well) wouldn't be worth more than what I paid for mine. That is my 2cents anyways. Good look if you decide to purchase it.

The car is now in Colorado. CPO will be included int he prince.

Actually, I"m not a big fan of white. I like it darker color the lightest I would go is Silver. But in CO, waiting for a dark SL55 is like waiting for rain. lol

Is white a nice color?

BTW, 150shot

Chaz- white is awesome. I waited for an White 500 and a 55 but no luck for 4 months. THe ones I did find sold VERY FAST. A white 500 here in Santa Monica just sold for 39k-

All my old MB's have been white- not the best pic in my sig, but depending on what you want to do with the car will determine if white fits you. I always tint, lower , and rims- this usually brings out the white. There is awesome looking White SL with some COR forged wheels that looks incredible. White CLS, CL, E's all look super good in stock form even better with a few exterior mods.

Again though, depends, if you are leaving it stock , maybe a darker color would fit better??

Sorry that silver one I posted is already sold, my broker sends them to me and keeps me updated while I was looking for my SL. I was posting to give price ranges in general.

thanks 150shot.

Another question for everyone.

Since it is hitting 50K, is there going to be problems with the car after I buy it?
