Yeah your right, I think the turbine rims bring the most justice to the car! Originally posted by D.J.

How much are people paying for the "turbine" wheels.
They do not look that good, for the money there are so many other wheels out, that would either make the car or break it. Those AMG wheels break the car.
PS: The car below looks absolutely fantastic, all because it has the right wheels and the correct ride height.

It also looks like someone's hauling a couple of kilos of crack in the trunk. Just kidding. I agree with you on the AMG rims. They suck major ****, and it's hard to believe that they cost so much and they add so little embellishment to the car. Originally posted by athlon70

The following pic blows away all of the AMG wheels out the water.

Internet_Mafia, is that a model?
Regardless, thats what I mean, it stands out from the crowd and all because of the wheels.

Black is an awesome colour for the SL, providing you can keep it looking like this...

Clearly, the black makes a bolder statement than silver, but there's a lot of silver fans out there....
W220: Yes, it's a model. I have been trying the find the manufacturer of this wheel but I have had no luck.
BlueSL: There's nothing like a freshly painted black MB. Unfortunately, over time, the "deepness" of the black seems to lift once oxidation occurs. This has been the case with 2 of my previous MB's.

I have a SL55 model 1:18 scale that I got off of e-bay from some one in Germany. It is made by Maisto. It has the multi spokes and wood trim with a full suspension, working doors, hood, and trunk. Great looking model so I bought 2 one for home and one for office, I think I paid around $35usd a piece.

They should make a SL model that has a folding roof like some SLK models have...that would be sweet!!!Originally posted by mookie

They already do have one, but it's an SL500, not a SL55 AMG. It's made by Minichamps, and it is so much more detailed than the Maisto version. Also the working hardtop is a work of art! Exactly like the real thing. The bad news is that it is on the pricier side, I think arround $150. I own both Minichaps and Maisto versions, so I have the Maisto one in the living room on display, and the Minichamp in my office, inside a protective case, since I think it might be a collectors item in the future. If your interested, you'll be able to find all the versions on www.exoticar.com.
