Own 2005 SL55 with Nav-> Nav spoilt-> Need to replace-> Can i get the 2009 Nav?

As the title says.
Car is 2005 december regd. 22k kms. One of a few 10-12 cars in india. Mercedes refuses to replace as goodwill free of cost.

CAN I INSTALL THE 2009 Nav?

Oh come on guys. All i'm asking is can i install the 2009 NAV on a 2005?

What an outrage! How terribly unreasonable of Mercedes!

The 2005 navs all came spoilt from the factory! So did the 2009s! You want 'unspoilt' nav, get a Honda or Acura, or an aftermarket Nav unit!

Alright let me tell you something. I Dont know if you guys are used to ****ty customer service or are just dumb enough to ask for reasonable replacement for a product under warranty but you really need to wake up!

Mercedes-Benz India Limited sold me the car in December 2005. In November 2008, within the warranty period, the problem of a faulty navigation system was reported. They have delayed the replacement by 6 months and here i am in may 2009. If i want i can go after them and fire them up and take this issue (which is simply just the replacement of a faulty product within the warranty period) but i have some other off the record business with MBIL so i dont want to strain our relations with MBIL for a 6k USD replacement.

Also such cases, even outside the warranty period, have been handled by MBIL and they have replaced entire units free of cost. Hence i used the word goodwill in my first post. Also i am a major customer for MBIL, owning currently 5 Mercedes benz's and within the family we have about 30 vehicles from them. The car also has a full service record with them with no accidents.

I think its a fair call. Nevertheless lets just stick to the main question of the 2009 Nav.

I hate to tell you this; not really. But coming on here proclaiming your's and your family's status, the cars you own, etc has no bearing. And it would be best if you learn to search so that you will know the difference in 2005 and 2009 NAV units before you go off wanting a freebie.
