Sorry to rain on your parade Mike but the reason your SC430 is such a head turner is that people cannot believe how ugly the car is. I participated in a car clinic a few months ago and seeing the SC430 and SL, both with all IDs removed was startling. Even through my biased eyes, the SL is the better design by a mile. Making space for the roof under the boot is difficult but the SL design is far more successful.
The power of the SL55 is completely addictive, as is the noise from the exhaust. You may not like the sound system so much but I was out yesterday afternoon in brilliant winter sunshine with Coldplay playing and the car was just stunning.
Here in the UK, the new SL is still a rare sight, so that when you come up behind people, heads swivel round in recognition. You overtake, not too fast so that they get to admire the car for a couple of seconds, and then - wham! - you're gone. Just fantastic.

Sometimes the true is hard to swallow.

Forgive me, but as the long suffering other people on this forum will know after all these months, I have my opinions and am never backwards in coming forwards with them!! As we say in England, I call a spade a spade.
