My Presidential Detail...from shiny to nearly flawless.
My SL65 is black and everyone knows black is biatch to keep looking sharp. The 65 only had 5000 miles on the clock when I purchased it and while the paint was in decent shape it did look like it was detailed prevously by a hack. I first got it and had it detailed by my detail guy and he did his best but their were still the scratches and swirls that needed more attention, so I tried Presidential Detail (he's local to me and I'd seen his work from his website.

Needless to say, I was blown away. These are the pictures I took after he was finished. He must have spent at least 20 hours on my car and he did all the work in my garage. He spent closer to 25 hours on my E55.
He took pics also of the before and after and how dramatic the change was...I'll post them or get a link so that you guys/gals can see what a real detail can accomplish.

Damn, looks OUTSTANDING!! Great deatiling work, now u just have to wash & maintain them yourself to continue the showshine. Nothing looks better than clean black cars, all of mines are black as well. I know how u feel after the detail..

Olin...you have a way with words...! It's amazing the "before" finish of the paint...he put some high intensity halogens on the paint and all I could see were fine scratches, minor swirls, and some hazing.
I was looking on the site he posts his detail jobs and the technique he uses is pretty time intensive. I was watching him and he really used the machine polisher in a slow and precise manner...something I would not have patience to do...!
He is going to do my Cadillac next and that poor thing needs it...the oxidation and polishing swirls/scratches are pretty significant (it is my DD).
PS...Olin...Chris is ordering the carbon fiber weave to match the rest of the interior tomorrow and will be done up when the 65 goes in for the SL63 bumper install this week. Also, the SL63 rear bumper/diffuser is coming Wednesday. It was supposed come today but MB sent him a SL550 bumper for some reason...but he sorted it out and reshipping is expected to be delivered Wed.
I can't wait for this rear bumper to get installed...the only difference is that the diffuser is going to be satin black...I also got another SL63 rear spoiler and that is going to be painted satin black to match.

SL55 M45 Jeep Commander
Looks very cool... They did a great job... Now, get yourself some "Purple Slice" - google it. You will never use anything else... No swirls - wipe on wipe off. I have a black SL, Harley and Jeep Commander. This stuff is by far the best...

Wow, I am jealous. Does anyone know a great detailer in Northern California that can equate the work of Presidential Detail? Also, if it is not too much to ask, how much did you pay for this detail AMGfan?
