Michelin ARE they any good.

My SL63 had half worn tyres, they were P Zero and came with the car.
I decided the put Michelin PS2 MO on, the fitter noticed the Pirelli had a ridge on the inside near the middle, he said is was for stability, the PS2
did not, but they were MO fitment. After a few days I opened her up
and immediately felt a wobble from the rear. The harder I pushed the
worse it got until it felt like it was going to let go. So I put the Pirelli
back on, what a revelation, no wobble and to my surprise a better damped
ride. This is just a warning so no need to reply, however I would welcome
similar experiences.

I'm not a huge fan of PS2's. I went through 2 sets on my Audi S4. They wear out quick and the road noise sucked pretty bad after there was some wear. I switched to Dunlop Sport Maxx's and there was great improvement, as well as a cheaper pricetag. I am now running Potenza's on the SL... happy so far, but I've put few miles on since. Pirelli's were more than I wanted to spend at the time.

I had a set of PS2 and loved them.
Didn't keep them long enough to have bad experience as I sold the wheels because I was plus-sizing...so the tires went with the wheels.
The time I had them was joyous. Good grip, quiet, stable....loved them. I could see that they weren't gonna last long though.
Got a set of the AS Plus now and love them, too. They are 40K plus wear, too. Go Michelin!

Sounds like you are experiencing the PS2 "wiggle." A search for wiggle will produce a handful of owners with similar experiences.

Agree...the PS2 is the best...

performance tire I've ever ridden on. They are not immune from defects, however, and MIchelin as a company is difficult and obnoxious to deal with. Nothing is ever a tire issue, or their problem, at least not until they get about 2000 or so complaints about it. But when they are right, they ride and drive super, better than any Armstrong, I mean "Pirelli", ever thought about.

I will admit to the PS2 wiggle on my set. They are just about done with about 15,000 miles. I could maybe get another 5,000 on them.
But for the wear and money spent. They rock. Very quiet too. I will go to the Bridgestones that are OEM on my SL65 19`s this time.

But the Perelli`s are like out of round crud. After they wear they are loud and rude under 20 MPH.

Agree. I have Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on my SL55 with 19" AVUS wheels, and I just love them. Also used on previous SL320 and used over 10 winters with no accidents or problems.

In past years, I have had Goodyear, Pirelli, and Continental on different cars, but Michelin are my favourite all-season (remember, winter tyres will still be better in winter), as I can use same wheels/tyres all seasons.

So thanks everyone for your input.
So I have the Michelin wiggle, sounds like something my wife should have!!
I have always loved Michelin but the wiggle feels bad, and the Pirelli's don't,
so maybe Bridgstone next.
Another problem, on my S600 I have PS2 on the rear and front, 97y rear as
recommended by Mercedes on the back have worn badly on the outside third
and look almost bald. The inside looks fine. Just had MOT and geometry check everything ok. I will definitely have to change rears, how about
Bridgstone Potenza RE050, they get 5 stars, but they are Jap made!!

In bold, LOL.

On the tires (tyres) have you considered the Pilot A/S Plus rather than the PS/2's? That may get rid of your wiggle jiggle.

Yes, I plan on trying them next time too, but...

I do wonder about the potential of the radial pull as on the old ones. Treadwear rating is great, and should ride great. We'll see....

I've been running the pilot sports on different cars now for over 10 year, (not same tires,) with no problems. The new A/S I think are an all season and I would stay away from, unless your looking for a all season/winter tire.

I have to congratulate Bridgstone. Just fitted 100Y XL on front and
101Y XL RE 050 on my S600. They are fantastic, very quiet, very comfortable
crisper turn in than the PS2 really help a big car.
I will consider them next on my SL63.
Heartily recommended.

EXACTLY. I hate the PS2 for that reason. The set I had on my car made it feel basically out of control. I went with a new set of the new P-Zero's and its amazing how much I love the car again. Michelin should basically be embarrassed with that tire and the price they ask is even more insane!

lol that is crazy, i had ps2's on my srt6 and the rear end always felt light in the curves like it was going to break loose. they just did not feel right on the car, i switched to Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta and the car handles great now. the ultrac tires wear REALLY quickly though.

I think that each car s slightly different. Probably slightly different alignment specs.

I have used PS2s on the SL55 since I derestricted the car, as this was one of the very few tires that is rated for the speed and weight of our cars. I also thought that the car handles brilliantly on them. I believe one set that I had produced a 'wiggle', but the others have been fine.
