Can Someone Pleasse Clarify Break-In Procedures For My SL63?

I'm not too entirely sure on the break-in procedures for my 63 and was wondering what you guys did? The only thing the daeler told me was not to redline it for 1000 miles. Seemed a little too vague for me.

dont go over 5500rpms
no full throttle
no kick down
dont go over 140km/h

Thanks for the response. Is this what the dealership told you, or what you went with personally? Lastly, is this for 1,000 miles? And excuse my ignorance, but what is a kick down?

Essentially break in is to make sure all the components don't get over stressed until they get normalized
Kick down is the little button under your throttle which when depressed will down shift the transmission so you can accelerate faster
Remember not only your engine needs to be brkoen in, but your transmission and the rest of the power train as well
Of course there are those of us who subscribe to the drive it like you stole it philosophy from mile 0

1. Transmission in Neutral
2. Depress gas pedal to the maximum level
3. While gas pedal is depressed, move transmission lever to Drive.

And if you do that you will find the transmission in many pieces laying on the ground under the car.

Agree.

(1) Turn car on. (2) Mash (as we say in the South) hard. (3) And frequently.

Sadly, I'm betting that a software download would probably show that you had not "obeyed" the break in instructions and they probably wouldn't honor your warranty claims....

And as soon as you can get it upgraded.
I have mine done and it's incredible how much extra you get.
I get pushed back more in the seat, and the traction light is coming on far more. It feels not far off my CL65.
