this is on an SL65 I am looking at. The current owner has no ide of what was done to this car. He bought it like it is. It has Renntech wheels and he was told the owner spent over 50k on mods.

How do you know it's cheap ? It hasn't ran yet. The guy wants 65k for it.

What looks messed up ?

Maybe YOU want it ???

sl65

as i recall... the auction starting pt was 49k, and look at the condition... it has a 2.0 condition rating, with lots of stuff being needed to be worked on. I don't want that sl65. I'm in the market for a sl63. If i do pick up a sl65, it would have to be stock, knowing it will cost an arm and a leg for repairs.

That sl65 belonged to a forum member here, it was a project car to the current VRP/FD 65 power packages. Search "1000 hp amgs" and you can follow the car's entire birth!

I would imagine the condition hasn't changed.
Let's see...
A failed project which wasted a year and $60K and a guy so dissatisfied that he sold his car. What a huge lost!

none
Very ugly, the sale not the car.

Still probably a good find for anyone with a wrench in their hand. Vadim should buy it as a shop whip for customers.....

So how much power did it end up pushing out, and why was the project abandoned? Those intercoolers look EPIC.

2005 SL-65 2002 M3
I watched this car on Manheim. It brought $63k. I was blown away at the price. I checked with a MB dealer before the auction, and the parts alone to replace the obvious was almost $4k. The car should have broutht less than $50k according to the auction condition report. I would not want an experimental car.
