Lowered via SDS ---Didn't get much.

Dealer wasn't able to get any lower values to stick. Well, at least at this height, my alignment is still in check. Looks like 1/2" - 3/4"....maybe.

Doesn't look that much different, but I think you're asking for ABC problems by doing this.

SDS lowering seems to take better on the E class....we had same issues getting mine to stay low, either way it came out just right

The guy who did two of my cars made a point to say that the airmatic on my E-Class and ABC on the SL are two completely different animals. I was expecting more of a drop but I'm glad that at this height my alignment is still in spec, and the thing doesn't look like a 4X4 anymore.

Question: why would ABC encounter issues w/ this setup. I think the SDS is factory certified, thus, their settings should sync up w/ ABC settings on the car.. Correct me if I am wrong?

I don't think there's any problem with adjusting ABC with the SDS.

I think by running the car lower on the struts you will be bottoming the suspension more or forcing the system to run at higher pressures more to compensate for less compressive travel available. I also think driving these cars daily is the best thing you can do to prevent ABC problems. Keeping the fluids circulated, seals lubricated etc.

We've seen reports of ABC problems on R230s though not to the extent of the previous generation CL. Just given the apparent sensitivity of these systems, I'd be hesitant to do anything unusual to the ABC system.

I get calls all the time from cutomers that tried to lower there vehicles with SDS but it wouldn't stay low. Just grab a set of Lowering Links and guaranteed you will get the ride height you want!!!

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
I have used SDS lowering on 3 of my R230's....

and never had an issue. All three were done at an MB Store, a big one with lots of experience. My lowest position is really low, and does upset the rear camber, just a bit. But I rarely use it for anything bu parking, or a low speed cruise on the weekends.
