2010 sl63 front end conversion for a 2004
Hey everyone. I just purchased a 2004 sl55, and am new to the forum. I was curious if anybody knew if it was possible to install a 2010 front end on a 2004. I.E. Hood, lights, quarter panels, front fascia etc etc etc........
Thank you in advance for any information you all may have

I just did a full conversion of my SL55. Expect costs around 20k USD (a little less, if you're experienced enough to do some stuff yourself).
My 55 has only 40k miles on it... Thus I thought that it would be worth to do the conversion instead of buying a whole new car (plus I'm a big fan of the Kompressor engine).
It looks great. Will post some pics later this month.

there are some pretty cool wide body kits available for the 03-07 SL's that refresh the look to the new SL and give you a wide ***. Saw some pics in last month's "only Mercedes" magazine from japan. Seems to be quite a few kits available but I think most of the material is made out of fiberglass. They look really good, but $20k... a bit steep for me...

don't think those who are willing to spend 10's of thousands to make their cars look unique or different really cares about residual value.
If you want residual value, should probably buy a Prius. Those things lose like 30% over 4 years! amazing!

My car is black/black, has 40k miles on it and the MY09 look has been done using original AMG parts only. I'm 100% sure that I could sell it for more the way it looks now, than before.
But, as said before, I did it for my personal pleasure. I don't care about residual value for as long as I enjoy the car myself.

Actually, this is not necessarily true.

I am sure your car is stunning, however it will be described differently in the log book. I guarantee if you take it to a MB dealer and asked for a part ex price it would be lower than if you left it unmodified. Privately you may get more, but I hate selling cars to the public, most are time wasters.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

GL350 AMG - S65 AMG - 599 HGTE
hi folks,
I need a parts list too
Could you guys give me some info on what to do to for conversion ?
I know I need new headlights, foglights, hood, fenders, front and rear bumpers, and rear diffuser. What else more ?
And are these parts bolt-on or do we have trim and cut some of them to fit ?
thanks in advance

Car looks great! I think i'd only do the conversion if I was in a front-end accident and HAD to replace my front-end parts. Either way, it definitely looks nicer
