SL63 exhaust upgrades!

I have a customer who is getting into a SL63, and getting out of a SL55 with renntech air box, tune and headers. He loves the exhaust note of the 55. He has not driven the 63 yet, but he is wondering, if he is not happy with the exhaust note, are there any "cheap" mods for sound? I have a C55 and removing the rear cats and resonator made a huge difference, can the same be done to the SL63 without issue?

Thanks for any insight.

Bryan

Remove the Secondary cats and the resonator and replace those sections with straight-pipes please don't do an x-pipe)... No CEL and minimal droning. It will sound a 1000x better then the SL55....... I think that stock it already sounds better then any modded SLK55....

You must be crazy, the 63 is probably the loudest stock car on the road, apart from some way out stuff.

with Longtube headers you get more power and more noise

also you should put in a X pipe where the 2ndary cats are.

Nothing against X-Pipes to be honest, I had one installed on my E55 and then my CLS63... I later removed the xpipe from the cls63 and just went straight piped from primaries all the way back to the muffler. It just sounds a bit more untamed I guess. However the x-pipe does make it sound a lot more balanced and exotic like... I guess its just my preference...

PS. Your car sounds sick bro! I heard the clip you posted before...
