Akebono SL55 Cermaic Brake Pads....

DO NOT EVER BUY THESE! I bought a set of Akebono Ceramic Brake pads for my sl55 with the Evosport rotors.... They claim to be dustless... which are true... but when they squeak like a B**TCH!!!! I hate them so much. The squeak is so high pitched it goes through the cabin... Waste of money!

I know what you mean. These pads are for tracking. They stop squicking when they get hot. they should have told you when you purchased them. They are not for the street.

yeah they did the same on my 7 series. I also was not impressed with the lower amount of dust but these cars are hard on brake pads

Do they have different formulations?

I put some on an X5 and they worked beautifully....

Same on my S500. I did notice the braking is not as good as the OEM pads though.. but that could be due to my old rotors..

I have them and have about 10 clients with them, and we all are happy with them. One of them has a squeak when backing out of the garage for the first time, but it's a small price to pay for the significant reduction in brake dust. Did you use any sort of grease on the backing plate sides?

I use them on my SL600. No problem here.
Maybe they dont work well with floating rotors?
