Yeah... MB uses a Very particular Turbo setup. Manifold and Turbine Wheel Housing casted as one single piece. That's why Marcin had to build a brand new Exhaust manifold to fit a custom turbo.

Brabus Sells a Bigger version of the Stock manifold + Housing, but sells It $20,000 ,Whithout upgrading The compressor wheel.

Soulsearcher did the good way...Althought his project probably needs some R&D, The Benefit will be 3 times the Stupîd Brabus upgrade,Wich doesn't inculde any Cooling upgrade.

Sometimes I ask Myself who's stupid enough to Buy Brabus Products.Mainly Oilheads... In USA brabus has never been very popular for engine upgrades...

Damn I really like this thread.I force myself to not check it more than once a day. lol

Bigger Fuel Pump

Just a higher capacity fuel pump...

If anyone wants the formulas for calculating best injector flow rate for a specific HP modification, let me know. For this project I need approx. a 65-68 lb/hr. Currently awaiting injector bench test results to see if oem is enough.

I hate to say it, but the design for the stock manifold looks like hell, why couldn't they have had another couple inches in the engine bay for a tubular manifold.....

It would be interesting to have a dyno of your car stock turbo/mani, sl65 turbo/mani, then your custom tubular big turbo setup....I am guessing it is going to sound like a fighter jet taking off.

Let me know when you get the flowchart for the stockers...I looked into the 65 injectors for a friend and believe they are 200+ a piece.

if you're baller enough to drive a 65...then there should be no 'ouch' involved with operating costs lol

Looking forward to it Bernie. Just signed up for the April 25th Miami Mile thru exotics rally. Hows yours coming along?

"Loud" would probably not work in my hood. Might have to slap some hi-flo silencers to shut her up.

yeah, I guess the 105 isn't that bad compared to the cost of a custom turbo setup like that....I'm used to getting a whole set of injectors for around 300....

What fuel pump is that? only 68lb/hr that seems reasonable I thought it would be more.

ROTORA 12 PISTON / 16in ROTOR

So I pulled the plug on the Rotora front & rear big big brake kit. 12 piston / 16 in rotors and larger rear calipers & 15 in rotors.

At the last Texas Mile, my brakes did not seem like they had much more left and that was at 173-176 mph (15 passes in a row).

Special brackets for front and rear had to be custom made (not needed on SL65s, just SL600)

Thanks ya'll (I am in the south) for the support. Here is a tid bit update:

So the injector flow bench test results were poor. Without going into too much tech details, suffice to say that the injector pushed out about half of what was needed. So custom injectors are in progress.

I also asked for a plug-n-play 2ndary file to be made available with the push of a button as a safety measure against those who may want to explore the limits of this car. This file would limit the cars performance to “barely drivable”.

Confused? Think about it. How often do you leave your car with a tech, a detailer or even a valet at the club? Personally I don’t trust a stranger with a 1000hp car or even a 600 hp car.

12 pistons... You got more pistons on one caliper than 99% of the cars on their four brakes ... So good.
