K&N filters for SL55

Anyone know of a good source for K&N filters for my '03 SL55? What are the part numbers as well?

thanks...they seem to be a good choice for the 55K cars, there's another brand BNM I think...any source or part numbers for those?

Which do you think is the better choice?

There was a huge debate about them once, the general opinion was they were worth it. I have them in my SL63 with a re map and they seem to add something, although they are supposed to mess up your maf.

Had them in all kinds of cars for over 20 yrs. Never any problem. But you can feel the difference when you put them in.

How are K&Ns on SL/CL/S 600s?

Those aren't maf cars right? Only the new 63s are?

Those cars should have MAF sensors. K&Ns are brilliant. We use them all the time. The only time there are MAF problems is when the owner over oils them.

Do you have to get the oil and cleaner kit (if so which one there are like 2 or 3 kits available, one looks like a spray they other one is a squeeze kit??) and prep the filters when new before installing them...

or do these things come pink/oiled and ready to drop in already the first time?

they're ready to be installed out the box, according to the box you recharge them after 50,000 miles

Filters too thick

I have a 2005 SL600 and put these on. They seem to be a bit too thick and I can't tighten down the airbox lids all the way without seriously distorting the lids.

Has anybody else experienced this?

Thanks!
