R8 vs ZR1... 750 iL vs S63
On top gear last night they had the R8 with the V10 Lambo engine, it's very fast, then they put It against a Corvette ZR1 and it beat the R8, believe it or not it was a second faster round their track.
Also they had the new BMW 750i L, V12 TT, and they put it against the MB
S63 and that's all wrong. It should be against a S600, then it would be like for like V12 TT. Plus the Beemer was quicker, a Limo needs a V12 not a V8.

They just started airing season 13 on BBC America last week. However, I did read that as soon as it's completed they're immediately going to start airing season 14 so they'll be completely caught up by the time season 15 starts this summer. Don't know if BBC America will show the new season as it airs, though.
The only problem with the versions shown on BBC America is that they're about 20 minutes shorter than the originals and are severely edited. It's best to just get the full episodes online.

That video of the R8 and ZR1 has been around for a while and discussed at great length in the respective forums - one of the things I found strange is that they clearly run the ZR1 on a fairly dry track, but the R8 had to deal with a damp to wet track. I was surprised TG did not go deeper into the effects that would have on the lap time. That the ZR1 would be faster shouldn't surprise anyone considering the HP advantage of the car - my take: I drive on public roads and a split second advantage on a race track by a professional race driver is less significant than the overall package. If the ZR1 were a freestanding platform, I would give it a shot - but as it stands now, its still just a Corvette

I am afraid it came from a Best Of Top Gear so could have been old. That's even worse Top Gear on Sky satellite TV can be 10 years old.
However if they made the Corvette in right hand drive I would consider it, I would certainly go test it.
And what's wrong with a Corvette, I am sure it has a longer history than AMG.
