Nearest facilty that will lower my SL55

Hello to all, is there anyone who can point me in the right direction, I am ready to lower my car and I am wondering if there is a facility near or around the Richmond VA or D.C. area that will be able to assist me? I know "Veloce" can do it, but that would be too far for me to travel, thanks in advance.

Is it still in warranty? If it is...

then I'd let an MB dealer do it with SDS. If there's an issue, you can always at least attempt to fall back on them. Have done it to the 5 SL's I have owned with no problems at all.

Do you realize the car lowers itself, over 60mph I think.
Also check your warranty, they don't like you modifying your car.
Best of luck.

Yes Sir I do, however I think that I will be going with the STAR system and seeing what that will turn out for me. Thanks for your reply, it's deeply appreciated. Charles.

No problem.
If you get it done I'd like to know with some pics as well, I always wanted to do mine, but was too worried it might spoil the ride.

Sure thing bro, I will get her nice and cleaned up and posted. At the moment I'm waiting on my tires to ship along with a brand new oem windshield. Than I will get the lowering done with the Star system and finally an all around alignment to complete the task.

I just put new 20" wheels on her and stepped up a notch in tire sizes:

255/30R20 (Front)
295/30R20 (Rear)

Wheels: (Euro 26)
8.5 wide (Front)
10.0 wide (Rear) with 25mm offset.

Charles and Infantry:

You guys are awesome. Thank you for keeping the greatest country in the world safe and free. Our armed forces are the best in the world because of motivated sharp people like you. I don’t stop and ponder just how blessed I am to be able to pursue the American dream both free and safe nearly enough. I can do this because of dedicated folks in the military.

I was raised to respect what our military does for us. My dad is a retired USMC colonel. He spent two tours in Viet Nam and won a Silver Star and two Bronze stars. He was once called a baby killer by a stupid relative of mine. I think today, we as a nation are a bit more thankful of the hard work and sacrifices made by the people in the US military, although we can never say thank you enough.

Thank you for keeping us free and safe.

Thank you Sir, I lost my father in Vietnam. I salute your father and by the way, what happens in the bush stays in the bush. As for your relative, there are those out there that Know not what they say!

Thanks Dino, actually I just got the links yesterday and had them installed already w/out the star system, the car looks great and believe it or not, it rides and feels better than it use to. Very happy w the results, that guy who invented the links from adjustableairride is either a genius or a rocket scientist

By the way all, I sent the 295/30's back, they have entirely too much meat on them for a slick look. Instead I reordered the 295/25's don't make this mistake, I was fortunate to be able to send them back after driving on them for 80 miles for a full exchange. Once the weather breaks I will post pics of her so that you all can critique my ride.

Hey Bro I'm not sweating it, I know what type of training I have under my belt, can nobody take that from me. Besides I will always be tactically and technically proficient no matter the circumstances and people like you and I are not made to be understood. Dude, I feel real bad about your situation with the prosthesis and all considering that I came out of both theaters of war with only minor injuries. I salute you bro just for the mere fact that you don't feel sorry for yourself and your holding your head high above ground level. Hit me up if there is anything that I can do for you, I mean it, whether it be logistically or plain old companionship. "Ranger's Lead The Way"!

If you're wheel is a 20X11, then the proper fitment should be 305/25/20, to keep overall rolling diameter the same as your stock wheels.

If on an 11" rear, the 295s will be a bit stretched, as they're just a tad too narrow.
