They're done! New wheels, in the flesh.
Just got a pic from the distributor. They're completed and being shipped today.
There was a bit of a delay because my distributor, Wheel Studio, was not happy with the finished product and had Savini Forged cut me another set. Very happy with the quality control. Here's what they look like:

Its killing me. The only thing keeping me sane, after dropping that much coin, is we're literally under 3 ft of snow right now with another 14-20" dropping as I type this. So, I knew the car wasn't being driven anyway. But, you like to have instant satisfaction when dropping a bunch of cash on something.
My poor tires have arrived and been sitting patiently in the garage. They're naked and just longing for something to wrap themselves around. Poor things....
Can't wait to see them on.

Thanks guys. I'm very happy with the result. It's hard when you're the first to put a certain wheel on a certain model of car. There's no reference and it becomes a bit of a leap of faith. My custom matte black accents on the inner spokes and rivets was the first time they did this color combo so that too, was an unknown. I'm also having them send me a set of matte black powder coated lug bolts to finish it all off.
Can't wait to get them on.

what was the cost for this setup if you don't mind me asking. I have been looking for a good brand to get wheels from for my vette for a decent price. You can PM me. Thank you.

If truly interested, I can put you in touch with my distributor that can probably work you a better deal.

Nice work Clay, I think they will look nice on the car.
Wonder where that color fastener idea came from? (inside joke between Clay and myself, lol)

I just noticed that you only painted the "inner" window of the spoke, and not the outer portion.
That's gonna look trick as hell bro. Game always recognizes game and that's quite pimp my friend

I was on the fence about that and doing the rivets. At one point, I was keeping the rivets chrome and the distributor talked me into doing those little register inserts matte black instead. Then I saw that vette and knew I had to bring it!

Im glad you got your probs with the wheels worked out before they shipped to you.
I just sent back my sv-8's back. I had all kinds of issues with them. Center-bores were wrong, paint flaked off near the center cap and one of the wheels had extreme corrosion and cracking of the chrome inside the bead area after just 3 weeks, that prevented the tire from sealing properly. And every wheel had bolts rusting after just 5 weeks.
For as much money as these wheels cost I am VERY disappointed with the whole affair and the way Savini is handling it.
Savini made me pay my own shipping to send them back so that they can personally inspect the wheels and determine if they will warranty them.
So far they have tried to blame everything on either the tire shop or the local humidity. They even tried to say the tire shop's in the area didn't know how to properly balance tires until i had a machine shop measure the center-bores.
Cant wait to see what they say about the centerbores

SL 55 and Range Rover Sport Supercharged
Interesting to hear of some problems with Savini. I have Savini Forged 21" (had to have my fenders hand rolled to accomodate them) for my SL55 and the outside piece of the rims seem to have been clear coated and have fogged over with age...I am trying to have them restored as we speak. Will keep you posted. However, I have to say the they are some of the most stunning rims I have ever seen on an SL55.
