Guys running a carbon fiber rear spoiler....where did you get yours?

I just purchased one from a sponsor on here. The finish was poor and the fitment was horrible. To their credit, they agreed on all points and refunded my purchase.

I know there's a few of you on here with one. So my questions are:

1. Where?
2. How much?
3. Are you satisfied with fit and finish?
4. Would you recommend the same for me?

Real Cars
1.) AMG Performance Studio
2.) Retail is ~$2000
3.) Unbelievably high-quality in both fit and finish... that's what you get when you buy from AMG Performance Studio
4.) Without hesitation

I was running an OEM SL63 spoiler and this winter made the move to a CF one after doing the DCT motorsports interior/steering wheel conversion. The new piece from the Performance Studio is just amazing... even if it is just a trunk lip.

I don't have pictures of it on my car, yet.

Wow Marcus! That's a lot of coin for a thin rear spoiler. Baller.

I'm looking for something considerably cheaper.

Revozport...quality product...more expensive than the stuff off ebay but worth it...not to have bends or waves on the spoiler.

I have no sense of cost after paying for it (i.e. once I spend it I usually don't remember the specifics of the transaction) so I'd have to search for emails from them...but I think it was around $500.

PS...I gave up on 3M tape...I've had all my spoilers permanently glued on (it just looks better that way to me). You can still take it off but there is a chance the spoiler will be damaged.

The one I got was from JB Speed. It fit pretty flush, except that one complete side would not contact the trunk. You think YOU had a gap:

I had exactly the same gap on mine so I took it to my body shop for them to fit. It came back with no gap so I'm happy with it.

Do you also have the JB Speed one?

I wonder how your body shop got it to stick. Even when you push it down to make contact, the 3m tape doesn't even touch the trunk. It's horribly mis-shaped.

They most likely applied a heat gun & weight, massaging it into submission so to speak... I had same effect w/NON carbon fiber spoiler, & used this tech myself. Then the 3m tape made contact but kept lifting, bought a db syringe & injected a tad of Super Glue, all is perfect.

I'm persistent

Yes, I have the same one from JBSPEED. I test fitted it myself and realized it wouldn't fit so I took it to my body shop to see if they could do anything to make it fit and they did. I'd suggest the same thing to you and if body shop can't make it fit then return it.

Same here...they used a heat gun, clamps, and industrial strength bonding glue, and time. It was a good fit in the first place so they didn't have to do much "massaging"...on the previous CF rear spoiler (not from Revozport) there was a slight twist to the spoiler so the gaps were evident...

Interesting fellas....

Thanks. I guess I assumed that they all would just fit perfectly. Looks like only the super expensive ones do.....

BOR,

If it is any consolidation, my OEM SL63 spoiler needed some "coaxing" to fit totally flush as well. It did not fit flush from the factory.

Really? That's surpising. That's good to know, thanks! So it seems a professional install is the norm for the SL.

Did you also have to "massage" yours into place? Or was it a perfect fit?
