SLS not so F1
Watching the F1 race Sunday, the pace car ( SLS) came out several times.
Nope on a race track it doesn't do anything for me.
IMHO the SL63 has it beat for that aggressive race look. In fact IMHO the
SL63 clobbers it for looks.
But then you all knew that..

Have to agree.
I went to the Toronto Auto Show to view the new SLS, and was extremely disappointed. I do not like the current Mercedes design trend.
The "gullwing" doors very impractical, and just a fad, to try to tie to the beautiful original 300SL gullwing.

I don't agree at all.
I thought it looked great at the F1 race and thought it looked even better when I was behind the wheel last year at Laguna Seca. I certainly have some angles of the car that I like more than others but overall I think it looks great. The gullwing doors just add to it for me and the sound is intoxicating.

It looks like Mercedes did learn something from Chrysler. Dont go to the trouble of designing new cars, just dredge up the old ones and sell them again.
Who wants change anyway?? BAAHHH!!!

I don't no why companies have to make new versions of old cars,
no new ideas I suppose!
Mclaren are just as bad, there is a new one, horrible big rear side vents,
the original was beautiful.

I thought the SLS looked fine on the track. I am not a big fan of the car (I cancelled my order), but it looked OK.

Not sure about the SLS as the Safety Car either. The last race was exciting to watch even though Alonso was 4th. Try talking F1 in Kentucky. The NASCAR boys just blink at you "huh"

Look at how high the front of the car is!!! (and not just the height but also how it just goes straight up from the ground!) These new pedestrian impact laws are ruining cars. And just wait for the new side impact laws to come into effect. All your cars will have these truck-like front ends with very small windows (which like the CLS cause me to be claustrophobic) and high back ends. I was driving in my family's Suburban and there was a new Ford something or another sedan and the back of the sedan was as high as the front of our SUBURBAN!

I really think the car industry has run out of ideas how to make a new look.
Particularly supercars. sportscars, whatever you want to call them.
I find myself looking at quirky cars like the new small Volvo, I quite like it.
But sports cars is , welcome to the new boss, same as the old boss!!

I thought I was the only one on Earth who thinks that the 63 looked kinda more aggressive than the SLS. Actually I prefer the 63's front view over the SLS' fascia.
