ENGINE SHUT OFF ON ITS OWN??? HELP!
Haven't driven my car for a few weeks. So I started my car and left it there for the battery to charge. Five minutes later the engine shut off on its own. Got kinda scared, but managed enough courage to start it again. This time, nothing happen. Drove it around for 15 minutes and everything seems okay.
Has your car ever shut off on its own?

Yes, and while driving none the less! Well, it was my girlfriends C43 with her in it.
Anyway, turned out the "crankshaft sensor" (do you call it that?) was going bad. Replaced and fixed.
However, don't know it that's your problem. Did you start it with keyless go and walk away with the key?

If you just let them know what happened, they will connect the car to a STAR dx system, and there should be a stored code that will let them know where to look.

Today, my Aston Martin V8 just shut down without any warning while driving down the freeway in the number one lane. Lucky I had enough speed to coast over 6 lanes to the shoulder and lucky it was Sunday when there were not too many cars on the freeway. It was quite unnerving. I sat there contemplating calling AAA and getting towed off this busy Los Angeles freeway. I turned the key off and back on again and it powered back up. I only drive my car on the weekends so I am wondering if this is a problem with high end vehicles that do not get driven on a regular basis.

Yeah, I second the crank sensor theory....happened to me too. How many miles do you have on it? Mine went bad at around 60,000...

Crank sensor,They typically act up when hot when they are starting to fail. Extended idling causes under hood temps to go up, heatsoaking components. I would replace it before it dies in traffic
