Hey guys, my buddy has an M5 with exhaust, headers, intake scoops (which all it does it allow more air in or something) and a tune (don't know what really the tune gives)

anyways, hes been just smack talkin my sl600 since I picked it up.

He says that his car from 50-130 will beat me easily in its state (just a full exhaust from chris @ floored fab) stock ecu/tcu.

And that when I get the ecu/tcu, it will be close, but that his smg tranny will ultimately beat me even if its by a shoestring.


I think with just my exhaust I will hand it to him. and when i do ecu/ecu WITH exhaust, he will be a couple bus lengths back...

He wants to put $$ on things. I know his car doesn't have anything else besides what I said, I know him very well. hes just always the type of guy to 1 up the next person (he doesn't have spray, or gears, or anything else than what i listed)

I think your 600 with ECU/TCU tune would be faster than his M5 with the mods he has done...maybe some Sl600 guys can chime in...I know BOR ran an 11.4 with a tune on his sl600

I never took my stock SL600 to the track, but I would guess MPH would've been around 115-116. Check dragtimes.com for stock M5s, to give you a rough estimate. But, once you get the ECU tune, you're gonna be light years ahead of him. Check my sig for details of what an SL600 is capable of, with just a proper ECU tune.

I ABSOLUTELY DESTRY HIM FROM A DIG, ITS EMBARRASSING, FROM A SLOW ROLL, I BEAT HIM, BUT HE COMES PAST ME AT 120, THE FASTER THE ROLL, THE SOONER HE COMES BY, BUT IN A 1/4 FROM A DIG HE IS MY BEYOTCH.
ANY ROLL I CAN DO IN FIRST GEAR, I KILL HIM TOO, BUT THE M5 DEF COMES BY AT 120 AND WILL SLOWLY STRETCH.

I estimate he's got about 430-460 rwhp and you've got about 410-430 rwhp. My money is on his but you can always take your chances.

I've had both SL600 stock & M5. (And a tuned SL600.)

I'm sorry to tell you, that you'll lose since your SL is stock at the moment.
Even to a stock M5 you will lose.
But, when you get your ECU, you'll take an M5 (stock M5 that is).
However, since his M5 is tuned, I guess it's a toss...

But don't hang lip over that, you have a Multi Purpose Vehicle, compared to him..!
