First of all, your SL63 is no where near being a race car. And second, I don't think an SL63 is the car for you if you can't figure out how to do a burnout.

I bet if you search MBW for terms like "Dyno mode", you'll find your answer(s).

"Feed a man for day or teach him how to fish and he'll feed himself" kinda thing, I suppose.

That, and I'm busy getting my ears shaved. Takes months to book an appointment.

Turn off ESP. Put your foot on the brake. Put your other foot on the gas.

I can see the next question...

"I didn't get the Extra Sensory Perception package... How do you turn off the ESP?"

Yep, just turn off traction control and play with it a bit. Do brake and throttle like suggested for a big time burnout or just heavy throttle (esp off) should break the tires loose as well.

I drive without traction control most of the time. The SL is pretty controllable in slides. Braking control is still on with esp off unless you are in dyno mode if I am not mistaken.

Wrong. You can't do a burn out in an SL63, the MCT tranny doesn't engage or something.

Yup, but I can't find anything to replace it yet. It is really fast though, and I am considering getting yet another GTR but with more HP, I want one that has a Switzer P800 kit. I had about 640HP on mine.
The problem is that its a Nissan and I am not sure I want back into that again.
I wish someone had a really aggressive power kit for the SL63 (like 800HP), I would get one again in a heartbeat, but the car isn't capable of handling the power as well as the GTR is. RWD vs AWD, etc.

I really really like the new F599 GTO but thats a whole lot of $ to commit to a car. I am trying to be 'financially independent' within a few years lol.

Even with traction control off you cant get a good burnout going. its has 7 gears and its dual clutch, both serve to make sure you get traction. If you really want a burn out tie a boat anchor to it.

Hey fantasm and modo, I think you two are right. With the esp off, brake depressed and throttle down, the car starts to bog, not break the tires loose.

another question....what's the best way to get more sound out of this car? Should I take the resonators off, or try and find an aftermarket exhaust? Thanks..

Also keep in mind when u do a burnout its best to do it in a high traffic area. Make sure your front bumper is about 6 inch of the rear bumper of the car in front of you just in case your left foot slips off the brake petal and pulls forward. This way the car in front of you will help you stop sooner . LOL sometimes i just don't know what else to say
