SL600 V12 - Modified

Hi,

A few days ago I managed to modify my SL600 V12 with the help of CKS Performance of Watford.

The following were modified:

- Lowered by 35mm
- Sprintbooster installed (version 2) with switchable acceleration
- SL63 AMG Grille (matching the SL63 AMG 19" Alloy wheels)
- Rear AMG clear high-level braking light strip (above the mercedes badge)
- Rear wheels spaced out

Apologies for the average picture quality of vehicle. I will post Youtube videos within the next week or so. To view my original photos please see the previous thread

Why does it have to go? Overstated?

I rather have v12 than AMG stuck on the back. It's a v12 sl600 and badge is identical to the one on my wing (fenders).

RE: SL600

Beautiful car. You might want look into a getting a tune in lieu of the Sprintbooster.

IMO the 600 is in fact a V12, at least last time I looked under my hood. Certainly no harm in putting a V12 badge on rear, doesn't look bad at all to my eyes.

No posing with the V12 badge, it looks decent, so it's ok in my book.

I like the car, but your car suffers from the same thing as my sl600....no sport package....and I did the smoked 3rd brake light upgrade, well worth the 110 dollars

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. NCE500, CKS Performance of Watford, UK have offered to do a 2 x ECU upgrade when Im ready. This will remove the speed delimiter of 155mph & making up to 80 hp avaliable instantly on top of 493hp. Also offered option to upgrade air filter for extra 5-10 hp. I might wait for both until February 2011.

Maybe I should have aligned the badge a little higher so the top of the "V12" matches the top height of the "SL 600" rather than at the bottom. There was an option of adding the "v12 Bi-Turbo" badge usually on SL65 AMG, but overall decided not to clutter with too much information?

It's actually installed behind the accelerator pad and fitted by CKS Performance. Though providing a photo is impossible, I can try to take photos of the 3 mode button

No, it could be discussed whether to put it on at all, but the alignment is perfect the way it is. One would always align it to the bottom line and there's also that seam right beneath it. It would look strange if you would allign it at the top.

Many ppl have the V12 Biturbo thing on the fender... but I think it belongs on the SL65, where AMG placed it instead of 6.5 biturbo (as it's in fact "only" a 6.0 engine).

Funny sidenote about the new 5.5 biturbo V8 engine. AMG decided to name it e.g. CL63 AMG and then putting V8 biturbo on the fender. I guess they always pick the one that sounds cooler. Couldn't put 6.3 on the fender, since it's 5.5. This makes the badge I have on my SL an even more rare (and honest) badge (see pic).
