SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: I just ordered my SL!!

I just ordered my SL!!
I just ordered my SL 55 -- Pewter/Charcoal with ALL options except Distronic, Phone, NAV CD collection. I have a couple of very important questions:
1) Car is scheduled for 2nd decade May production, but we were able to still modify the car as late as this morning! Is this possible?? Is my dealer accurate in saying the car will be in 4 weeks from production date? MY experience with BMWs was that 4 weeks before scheduled production, the computer locked in the car and prevented any changes from going through. I would really like to have the car by the July 4th weekend!
2) I opted against the NAV CD collection just because I will not be travelling the country in the car; however, do I get a regional NAV CD on delivery of the car??
BTW, I got the car at $6k above MSRP!

Mine was 2nd decade of March
I received it April 12 and it was delivered to dealer on April 10th. So yes 4 weeks is possible on the East Coast. Only regional CD's for Nav. I guess only when the DVD Nav is available will it be one disk.

You can ask your dealer for the print out of the order. My car was built on Mar 4 with Mar 1 being the confirmation of order status which mean it could have changed before that date. It arrived in Dallas on April 11. Good luck, you love it!

I have a similar situation to yours, but I was able to modify it yesterday. It is still scheeduled for 2nd decade of May build. In the computer it said last modified date of 4/15/03, but the manager put the changes through and it was accepted. Now, my question is, is it safe to assume that I still have a second may build date?

Be very careful with this situation on the changes. I had a client who ordered an E500 and called me and let me know that he wanted to delete an option. I took the change to Netstar and it let me update the P.O. after the official cutoff date. The only things is that I checked about 3 days after I had made the change and the option I deleted was still there! Make sure to check back with your salesrep. to make sure the update went through okay.
