Considering sl65 black series. Questions
Now that they are below 200k I am considering one. Anyone that owned a regular sl65 on here drive one? Anything not to like about them? Has anyone put a tire on one and got it down the track? Any opinions at all from someone that knows first hand would be great.
Thanks

car is rough and edgy but at all the wrong places... it rides rough, noisier, but still does not have sports car moves. i drove one for about an hour and.. was not impressed.
the only thing i truly like about it is no abc to break.
car is a looker though...

We had one in to check the software and see what is possible.
I liked the looks. Other than that it is very stiff. The turning circle was ludicrous. It is still very heavy, and the roof is fixed. I couldn't see the point.

It is a looker from the outside but sitting in it just reminded me of being in my SL65...which isn't a bad thing but I felt it should have been MORE for some reason.
I say for that price range ($150K to $200K) there are other options I would go...
Ford GT (mod it please)
Audi R8VT10 coupe or convertible
CLKBS (and mod the heck out of it)
There are probably more options but I'm drawing a blank...
OR
Get a stock SL65 get a wide body kit and get the Speedriven kit...you will get the exterior looks, have a convertible, and have hp/tq numbers close or more than the SL65BS.

Get a SL600 and tune it, you may have road holding problems though, all I
can say is my S600 just had a new ic pump and it accelerates like a rocket,
I'm sure my CL65 felt no faster.

You can put a widebody and wheels but, it will never be a black series. I would much rather have a stock black series. Then a 900hp SL65 or whatever. Just my 2 cents...

Considered the SLS?
Better value for the buck + the MCT Tranny which adds 2 more gears not to mention the Carbon Ceramic Brake option.

For myself at that price point I would be looking into 997 turbos.
Or if you really want to go ***** deep into something... Used Gallardo + UGR TT.
