It is probably arguable that it is never " wise" to purchase one, but if the price is extremely cheap, it might be worth it.... Just know that you most likely won't find anyone that will warranty the vehicle, and your insurance may beat you up a bit on the value of the car if you were to get into an accident and total it... Just think about your decision thoroughly, and if you feel its worth it, then go for it... there are quite a few lemon cars out there that can easily have their problems remedied... It's only metal and plastic....

'Buy Backs' are a curiosity. Generally, whatever the problem was has been corrected, and if the car is being offered from a MB store, it will have a warranty.
Many times these buy backs are done for ridiculous things. I know a guy who lemmoned a Gallardo because of 'squeeky brakes'.

There are several shades of gray on this, I would say something minor would be fine, but if it is electrical issues, I would probably stay away. I would also double check that it being a lemon buy back doesn't affect your ability to get a warranty of some sort

The vehicle is an 2005 SL55 with 38xxx miles. Seller is asking for $33K and has no warranty. I used Autocheck and I found out that the vehicle was Lemon twice (CA and NV). My service advisor pulled up the VMI and stated that the vehicle pretty much lemon due to electrical problems. The VIN number for the vehicle is WDBSK74F087643. I decided not to purchase this vehicle because of its lemon condition and also members of the forum said that it is not worth it.
