Recent purchase 2009 SL65 designo Graphite
Here's some pictures of the 2009 designo Graphite SL65 I purchased this weekend. I was looking for a SL63 and then came across this car. It was the designo color combinations and the all leather interior that made me decide on this verus a SL63. I was torn beteen the fun I could have with the MCT versus the massive torque of the V12. After driving the car home from LA I'm convinced I made the right choice for me. The SL65 is very gentle and smooth when you're driving around town. When you stomp on the peddle the car immeadiatly changes character.
The car will be used for commuting to work on nice days, trips around california, some club track time and for destroying the company CFO's M5.

You made absolutely the right decision.
In daily driving MCT is a bit too jerky and not nearly as smooth as the 5 speed.
On top of it,the torque of the 65 is truly unbeatable....

Very nice.
I have driven a couple of them and the torque is fantastic!
I have been think about trading my ride in on one of those. Just waiting on the kids to grow up.
Congrates & Enjoy your new toy

heheheeee.. i doubt you are ever going to put any power to the asphalt in the company parking lot
i run 305s in the back of my sl65 and anything below 40-50mph is a rolling burnout...
the e60 m5 is a formidable car. you can catch one snoozing in a light-to-light drag race (not much tq going on there for the m5), but on the highway they are fast...

M5 does seem like a CFO's car. However, a 65 is big poppa's ride. I always tell my buddy there are a lot of nice cars on the road but, only a few have V12 and dual turbos. Congrats on the sweet purchase!

Did you see the black SLR? A customer took delivery on the SLR just as I was arriving to pickup the SL65. They had the two sitting side by side by the garage door. The SLR looks much better in person than it does in photographs. The exhaust sound it made on its way out is lovely.
