06 sl65 conversion to 09+

Thinking of picking up an 06 sl65 tomorrow. Its silver, but would like to repaint the complete car white, possibly starfire pearl white. And do the 09+ conversion. What do you guys think? Worth it or just leave it alone?

Does it affect the cars value when painting it a different color? IF i do get it, I will have it completely stripped and painted inside out.

The car will definitely depreciate of you change the color.

correct. not only that, but any conversion on an older car hits the price as potential buyers interested in such year would be interested in the more conservative look the old car offered when original.

besides, unless you spend a really good chunk of money the new paint will not come up to the standard of the factory quality.

I don't think that's true at all. It might be true of the 600, but the 65s have always been more wild - if only a bit - and rims, spoilers, etc. have always been hot sellers.

At this point, the car has depreciated so much it'll likely hold a good % of its value (more or less) no matter what you do. ENJOY IT.
