SL55/63/65/R230 AMG Clear Corne Swap on SL65

SL65 AMG

Clear Corne Swap on SL65

All,

Ok, on the SL65 2008 (black/black) is there any special trick to popping out the orange side markers? Do you push from the back of the car on the light to forward? Just don't want to scratch the side of the car when I try to pop these off somehow.. Did a search but couldn't find anything for this model on the clear corners..

As I found when I searched, best way is to open up your fender liner a little bit so you can get your hand back behind the lights & press the spring clip with your fingers.

Thanks.. I was looking at it last night and was going to attempt to try quick swap but wanted to check first..

you cannot buy clear for 07, 08 sl65. you have to paint them another color. or buy older clear ones and have them molded into the bumper

But the current ones can be popped out for sure for bulb replacements..

I don't know what you are saying but I bought some specifically for the 2008 range on ebay that are clear.. we'll see if they fit..

For a long time there were no clear ones available for an '07 SL55, but now they are available in clear or smoked.
I tried to find Euro impact strips, but the Euro bumpers are different, so no luck.

News flash, you also dont have strips on the new bumpers. they are just molded to the bumper and not a seperate part

I remember putting my corner lights in the oven on my c32. I don't remember the technique but we pulled the orange off of the corners, replaced the bulbs and it looked great.
