Hey guys,

A friend of mine is looking to get a front tow hook license plate mount on her 2003 SL500 (posted a thread in the SL forum but didn't get any hits).

Any ideas on where to get one? I've searched the internet but haven't really found what I'm looking for.

First, some clarification. The tow hook and front license plate mount are two different things. See in the photo.



Try getmercedesparts.com and:
Collision Catalog - 2003 - Mercedes-Benz - SL Class
Front bumper, Bumper and components, License mount, W/o sport, Silver

Choose the correct color and watch for the "with or without sport" option.

^ you may have nailed it as far as what the OP is looking for. I would not recommend blocking that front tow hook at least not on an R230. I hate to admit how many times I have had to use the front tow hook point over the years.

... as far as the tow hook goes...it's a real easy "on-off" thing.....downside....makes it easy to steal too...mine cost me like $70

Perfect, that is just what I'm looking for! Now if she has an sport package (AMG) bumper do I order the one for an SL500 or SL55??

From what I recall the sl with the sport package and the 55 have the identical bumper. I'd play it safe and order the one for the 55.
