SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Just Got My MBH Headers and Caragraphic Downpipes

Props to Cargrphic for fabricating a custom Mid pipe.
James@ACGSD has a tune specifically calibrated to be used with MBH headers, you can try it out if you like.
Trending Topics
I chose MBH, due to them having a 2 inch primary design, while all other headers for the 63 platform use a 1 7/8 inch design. This results in a brutal firing order and cylinder scavenging effect. The headers alone have been tested to give around 45 horsepower.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Btw, larger primaries result in moving the tq curve higher in the rpm range (this is how the more hp is made on the top end) and on the 6.2 engine which is already somewhat weak at the lower end this is not a great idea... Yu spend far more time below 4000 rpms than above it

Cant wait to see what kind of numbers your beast is gonna throw down!!

Weak on the low end?. the 63 engine gives you an almost full potential as low as 2500 RPM. Get your facts straight bro.
and let me correct you on another thing, when your racing from a roll (not from stand point), you will be spending more time above 4000 RPM
. just shifting from second gear to third will smack your RPM back at around 4200 RPM. Drive a 63, and look at the shifting pattern. nuf said

I dynoed my SL63 about a year ago runing only with an ECU tune and keeping the stock exhust with the primary cats deleated. I conducted the dyno on a dynodynamics (which is known to always read lower than a dynojet). It gave me 423 rwhp( equivalent to 440-450 on a dynojet). my tune is really outstanding. I had a previous tune (i'm not gonna say which tuner), that gave me 390 rwhp. I switched to PP-performance files and glad that I did
. I'm pretty sure The car on the same dyno right now with all the mods listed above will dyno at least 460 rwhp if not more. here in the middle-east, we run on 97 octane. I will dyno it and will show you the results.
Can you elaborate? the idea sounds great!

Yes, they had an SL63 that was worked on. You can call them and ask them. ByDesign did everything for me with cargraphics and MBH
I got you the video. I wanted to do a fly by, but stupid cops were everywhere. I will do it sometime this week. This video is near my home...tell me what you think
