Two nice mods for 07 SL550: IPOD and Escort
Just had the guys here in Alpharetta, GA at Benchmark Soundworks add two great and relatively inexpensive mods to my SL550.
1. Integration of my Escort 9500CI into the electronics cluster through a component from Mid City Engineering. Even though they still installed the display in the cigarette holder, I don't really need it as everything automatically displays through the instrument cluster. The little control panel is in the center console but you can do most common functions thgrough the buttons on the steering wheel (like mute, mark location, vol up/down, etc.)
2. Ipod Integration through a component by Dension Audio System called a Gateway 500. Allows you to control all Ipod functions through the buttons on the stereo and the CD changer functions. Also displays Itunes track data on display. Great thing is if I plug my Iphone in and open the Pandora App (or any other music app - Rhapsody, etc.) it plays that through my stereo as well.
Great additions for relatively cheap. Now if I could just get a better Nav system! Hey, I'll just you the one on my IPhone, now the turn by turn instructions play through my stereo!

just googled it Amazon has it for peanutzz 
$458 ONLY Q will my 2005 be compatible? u have 2007? i think we share same fiber optics & upgraded nav units 2004 doesnt have this. Any way u could ask ur install shop what requirements are needed as prod info on Amazon is vague..

The Dension IPOD unit is about $450 and about $150 to have installed. The Escort unit was about $600 and $400 to have it installed (not counting the radar detector of course). As far as the compatibility, both websites have compatibility charts. I had the installers call to confirm. That is probably your best bet to be safe.

We can answer all your questions. We offer all the items except the Dension for that year (we do offer it for pre 2005 cars with D2B fiber). We offer the iTronic Audio instead for MOST fiber cars (it is more reliable than the Dension in all long term testing - see other sites for independent testing results, etc)

awesome! where in Los Angeles/ So Cal area can i get these mods? ill happily buy from u n get install @ ur recomended installers hopefully in CA ps i have latest iphn verizon & used the Viseo bluetooth puck Mb2 i believe but having trouble pairing to my new phn, viseo claims itll work w/software uograde but on wibdows 2k laptop who has that old sh$@ now? thnx

The Viseeo upgrade software works on Windows 7 (not Vista, which was a cluster f**k), and XP. Give us a call tomorrow and we can set you up with a shop in LA, no problem.
