SL65 BS converted back to a convertible
Here's a story about a rental firm in LA that took a SL65 BS and put the SL top and ABC back in it. You would think they would have started with a normal SL65 and put a body kit on it. Perhaps they did, but the interior and wheels are from a BS.

The website has now corrected the story saying that they believe this is a regular SL with a body kit.

damn thats krazy .. but i guess their making money off of it so they not worried about it .. damn 100k invested on top of the retail price . they must have alot of money to play with

That is absolutely not a Genuine Black Series retrofitted into a Convertible.
Proof : The shape of the Gas Cap. The one on the black series is Squarrish, that one is round.
How the hell could you think Someone could retrofit it into a convertible and add the ABC suspension.
It would be a $ 500,000 Nightmare.
So much more easy to convert a regular SL into a BS buy using a body kit or even stock body parts, and to ad some interior bits (Seats, wheel & knob, DIY level)
For sure the work is clean, that's not some SARONA crap.
That one looks pretty much like the one done by INDEN DESIGN

Def kitted, few simple reasons.. On OEM 65 blk ser the rear trunk spoiler/wing when in closed dwn position, it sits totally FLUSH as OEM has recessed opening. & from single pic here hard to tell but looks like bigger Calipers that older 65's had vs the NEW blk ser has smaller calipers (to save unsprung weight)
Lastly the gas door being square vs round isn't indactor of fake or not IE the 65 blk ser came in 2009 it had round/oval gas door then in 2010 they made it square.. def NOT Sarona trash & more than likely 1 of tbe German kits..
So stoooopid to tell people they added the dreaded ABC hydraulic Nighmare unreliable s#*t suspension lol they'd have to rewrite soo much code it'd be never ending. As well, obvious just trying to pose a fake widebody w/$30k kit & just used a previous older regular
sl65. Why buy $325k blk when the unscrupulous Rental establishment can trick reg Joe's into paying ludicris rental $$ on reg old 65 w/ MUCH less power etc.. Actually pretty funny to think of all the stuffed shirts that rented it & told/bragged to every dik w/ears about how much faster/rare etc it was lolollolol

Why not just make a normal SL65 into a Black with the ABC and roof?? 
They just ruined the value of that car and it's not exactly cheap or old. What distinguishes the Black now anyway, the bodykit? Even the power increase can be done and then some on the SL65. Putting back the ABC? It's like converting a WRX STi into an Impreza

SL65 DTM is what they were going to build, but the Pagani group offered more $$$ & Excluvity in the end. The SL65 BS and no offence anyone, was a wasted exercise in my personal opinion.
After all the Pagani's will always be more sort after, although all their plumbing and motor comes from Mercedes-AMG.

The SL Black did disappoint, they could have made it much better but Mercedes does that these days, make a car with issues so the successor is a reason to upgrade, marketing and money over buyer satisfaction. Not to say the others don't do it too. If you build the ultimate car, no one will want to upgrade to your newer model. That's reality.
