Search is over. Got my SL55

After selling my 04 SL55 six weeks ago, I've been in hell living without one. I have been researching and looking for another one since the first hour I sold my older one (to a fellow member on this board). I've come across many of these in different years, mileage, condition etc. I put a lot of time and effort into finding the perfect one, and I think I have.
Gentlemen, I just picked up a 2007 SL55 with under 2K miles on it! Yes, under 2K miles! It is iin showroom condition and still has one year left on the original MB warranty, which I will undoubtedly renew. I found this cherry in PA from a gentlemen who has four other cars, and never drove this baby. He had it garaged, and covered with a car cover exposed only once a month for the occasional weekend drive and wash/wax session.
The car is absulutely MINT with not one imperfection on it. Not a ding, not a chip, nothing! The interior is brand new, smells new, and is in the carbon I was looking for. I can not believe the luck i came across with this baby, and just wanted to share with my fellow SL owners!

I will now begin the process of adding my personal touches on this beauty! Already ordered the color matched (silver) front side markers from evo to match the car and elminate the ugly orange ones.
I bought the chrome side fins for the sides....not the ones you get on ebay but the really good, longer ones from a german company.
Since this car is basically new, I dont want to do too much to it, but I am thinking about wheels. The OEM's that are on this car (see pics) are pretty nice, and in flawless condition, but I think I may look into the ADV 5.1 or something else.
AMGFan's black SL65 is an inspiration for me, and although my is silver, I would like to get the custom carbon difuser and ADV .1 wheels on my ride as well.

Guys,
would black wheels look nice on a silver car? or would a more closely matched gun metal or brushed silver look more appropriate?
Any other things that I need to do with this car to begin the slow transformation process? Someone told me that it's not even broken in yet and I should not be to agressive with it for another 5K miles or so. thoughts?

Just wanted to share this happy day and get your thoughts, opinions and suggestions. here is the link to my new Baby!

Nice car, can you tell us the price? What options do you have? As for the driving aspect, go out and push the car-that's what the warranty is for.

The buyer wanted $69,950
I worked on him for a week and got it for 60K in cash.
Had MB do a full inspection on it beforehand, clean carfax, etc, etc
The MB service manager was laughing telling me that the owner was reluctant to bring it in on the day of the inspection because it was raining.
The owner told me the car never saw rain before. LOL
The car does not have the Parktronic, but does have everything else.
I never used that feauture on my old car anyway. It was annoying actually.
I know everyone claims their car is MINT and CLEAN and in showroom condition, but as God is my witness this car is NEW! I feel I got it at a great price too.

RE:07 SL55

Nice find! I'd get the oil changed if its been six months or more, then drive just drive it like you will drive it and enjoy it stock for a little bit. I'm sure that the mods will happen soon enough.

That is a great find. I hope you hang on to this one for a long time.

I think black wheels would be fine, but maybe matte not glossy.

The only problem is that your cheecks will be sore from all the smiling as you drive around. :^)

Thanks man! I really like the ADV 5.1 in black, but I'm not sure they would look good. I'll probably take the safe route and get silver or brushed aluminum with machine polished lip.
Plan as of right now is to do a couple minor touches (wheels, carbon shift knob, possibly carbon/leather steering wheel), and enjoy her for a year or two.
Then possibly start doing some serious tunning with the engine upgrades and most likely the Prior designs SL65 kit.

Awesome. Absolutely awesome. If money was not an issue, I would have an 07 or 08 SL55. I'm one of the ones that prefer the supercharged V8 to the twin turbo V12 as the power delivery of the 55k cars is just more fun. (I got a killer deal on my current car which was just too good to pass up).

I really think that the Silver on black color combo looks best. It is also most practical since silver can still get away with looking great even if it is dirty.

The stock rims look fantastic...but I'm biased as I have the chrome versions on my car. I say keep em, or get the ADV5.1 rims in silver. I've never been a fan of black rims. I just don't get that trend.

Other then adding ADV rims and the turn signals, I might consider painting the chrome trim around the fog lights black (that is my only beef with the facelifted cars...I hate the chrome rings). Other then that...I wouldn't be in a rush to mod it.

Thank you Lukas!
money was an issue with me as well.
I sold my 04 SL55 with 79K miles for $33K.
I was only going to add 17K for a total of 50K for the replacement.
I found a car in Chicago with a Jaguar dealership that had 8K miles on it (also a 07). They wanted 65K and I talked them down to 60K. I justified the extra un anticipated additional 10K by telling myself the low miles are worth it.
Then out of the blue a guy in PA put up this beauty with 1600 miles. I thought it was a typo at first. I emailed him immediately and told him that i'm 95% done with a deal on a car in Chicago but owe it to myself to offer him the 60K on his. He initially refused as he wanted 69.9K, but after he dealt with some low-lives and un-reliable people initially, I was able to use that to my advantage and to talk him down to 60K in cash, on the spot. He was reluctant but we ended up doing it. I am extremely happy with the car (its' NEW), and the deal i got. The year left on the MB warranty is huge as well. Dude......I spent over 30K on repairs and maintence on my 04SL55.........I kid you not. it was killing me.

hey......I had a 2002 CLK55 as well.
Absolutely loved that car!!!
Had it for three years and then upgraded to a 2004 SL55 three years ago.
then sold that one and just got this.
In all honesty, the CLK55 was fabulous! Plenty of getty-up and a lot more reliable and less expensive to maintain. dont get rid of yours.
