Long time member just bought an SL55 and needs some help with cosmetic mods please!
Hi Guys,
I have been on the E55 forum for many years and contributed significantly over the years so I'm hoping for help on the following parts as I I'm short on time to research with my work schedule and looking for the following parts for an '05 SL55:
Single slat grille (want the best quality, not price).
Best options for lower lip to add onto the stock bumper (carbon or paint is fine).
Best place for clear bumper markers.
Best options for trunk lip in either carbon or paint.
Best place for pricing on an all leather MP Design Sport Wheel (I can do the paddle conversion).
I hope to have my car on Monday and start tossing parts on right away so any pointers are appreciated as I don't have the usual day to spend researching. Just bought a new house and will be in the garage all weekend trying to get the drywall cleaned up, paint on the walls, and cabinets/lighting up.
I'm also open to any other suggestions that I might want to consider while I'm at it. I know the performance side of 55K cars well so don't need help with any of those parts and already have Vossen wheels for the car so I'm covered there.

You can find the front spoiler, rear spoiler, and clear side markers on Ebay. Most of the cheaper CF stuff are CF wraps, not real CF. But, they look good enough and pretty cheap. If you want painted stuff, it's made of the same material, Polyurethane or resin. I like the Carlsson style front spoiler, and the Lorinser rear spoiler. Renntech makes them too for the rear as well.
The steering wheel you can get form one of the forum members, DCTMotorsports in San Jose area. They have good CF interior trim as well as the wheels. Check out his website, lots of seletions.
Post some pics, sure others will give you lots of opinions!

Looks like you are very close to liking the mods I already have done so here are some pictures for you. I bought my front single fin Grille from E bay, make sure to get the one that has the plastic star covered and is not hollow inside. I have distronic cruise and it still works with the middle behind the star all closed up with the black plastic. I also took the chrome around the slat and covered it up in Carbon. The rear spoiler with the lip I bought from the same vendor on Ebay as well however mine is not wrapped it is real and looks great. I also got my mirrors done with a lot of engine bay stuff in carbon by member (renntech55) his name is Shawn and does amazing work. The clear corners I got from E-Bay as well you can find links on the forum here for those. I however would be interested in selling mine if you want them. I'm filling in my corners so that I don't have any lights there at all, that is how they have it in EUROPE. Do you know the ebay vendor you bought from? I am very picky when it comes to fitment.
I would love to see a picture of your engine bay too!

I will have some engine bay pictures along with a new photoshoot tomorrow. I will try to locate the vendor for you today for all my parts. The quality is amazing on this one and fits great from what people say, I think he might have the rear spoiler as well. Contact renntech55 (Shawn) or pm me for his number for the mirrors, his turnaround time is about a week only so it is super easy to take the mirrors off and ship them out and get them back. This is the best bang for the buck, the real carbon fiber covers cost $800 which is crazy. If you want the clear corners let me know I might be able to sell you mine, or if you want I would mold the corner lights up and have a clean look. It is all up to you. The grille is all over e bay I will try to find you that as well.

Thanks guys...I appreciate all the help on this one and have taken some time to start ordering goodies!
Sadly my car is stuck in Atlanta as I had transport issues. I have tried everyone under the sun (including all the big names like Passport, Horseless, etc) and can't get the car out of there for 3 weeks that way. Trying to get one of the brokers/common carriers to get it out this week with little luck. I may have to resort to open transport as I know a local outfit that can get it Thursday but I HATE to do that. I would rather NOT fly back and drive it the 1,400 miles....sigh!

Jokuo had the best single slat grills with the Distronic style center being flush with the chrome star, I ordered a single slat black one:
