When power meets grace: The V12 and Vossen - Full photo shoot

You know, sometimes in life, you think you're all set. You've got what you need, and you don't feel obligated to dote upon yourself any longer. I've got enough pairs of shoes, right? Why must I have that those Salvatore Ferragomo's sitting in the window? Do I really need that Patek Philippe? It's just a watch, correct? It's not gonna keep me from being late to my appointment at The Grooming Lounge, is it? How much is that shave and manicure going to cost me anyway?

For me, this is not that time. I YEARN for that new pair of shoes, I MUST have that Patek sitting atop my wrist, and we all should be getting that manicure. Lavish those you care about first, but don't forget to satisfy yourself.

That SL you see pictured below is my passion, my love affair, and the thing that I wish to dote upon, at this time.

You see, my SL600 always commands my full attention. Like a concerned parent, I've always got one eye on her, making sure that a passer-by isn't getting too close. I keep a roof over her head, I make sure she has food, bathe her regularly, and when the time is needed, she goes in for her regular check-ups.

But it's the shoes.......those shoes, that's my achilles heel. My child must have the best shoes. Right now, the best shoes on the market are made by Vossen. These 20" VVS CV3s are the perfect fit. Her stride looks glorious in them, and I don't remember ever seeing a pair of shoes look so good, doing absolutely nothing. She adores her new shoes, loves to show them off. Now, the passers-by come even closer. If nothing else, just to get a better glimpse of those new shoes.

My baby has found her ruby red slippers. And no matter how hard that witch tugs at them, they're never coming off.

And with that gentlemen, let me present: My baby's ruby reds.

Enjoy.

Looks great --- wheels and car but Im still wondering why you have not got rid of those pumpkin orange markers and the egg yolks in your headlights... simple fixes that make a good difference IMHO.

RE: Vossens

Wheels and car look awesome! Those airport shots seem eerily reminiscent of the Montgomery airpark.

I was considering to get a set(s), until my neighbor bought a new V8TT S63 last week, which looks and sounds positively bada$$.

Havn't ridden in it yet, but am presently struggling with a severe case of CLS or W212 P30 V8TTitis that I need to cure for about 18 or so months.

Wow what a very clean look!!! The offsets looks perfect. Everything looks like its supposed to be that way almost from the MB. The drop is not over done where the top of the tire is buried, it looks great. As these cars age they end up in the hands of many who have different ideas of what looks good. There is nothing obnoxious about your car, its the classic less is more. On top of it all, you have the time slips to prove its more than just looks. Just one thing have you considered another rear pair in 18's or 19's....i bet you could squeeze those new 305 mickey thompsons on for some high 10's!!!!! I probably shouldn't say this but if the nanny asks for a raise now that sl won't be going no where!!!

I've had black side markers for a year now, sitting somewhere in my garage. I keep forgetting to put them on. I really need to have those headlamps taken apart and the inside painted black like Jon's. It's next on my list.

Thanks, E! It actually Frederick Municipal Airport. These new V8TT cars are very hard to ignore, aren't they? They sound amazing. Can't go wrong with one of those....

Thanks. I've got my eye on those new Mickey T's too. I think the aspect ratio is wrong though..... and these cars get that "incorrect gear ratio" code and go into limp mode. I'd have to match front back, to the same, but incorrect overall diameter to make it work. Certainly a possibility for track days.....

Clayton:

The car looks great. I really like the simplicity of the 5 spokes!

Were you able to do a couple of runs on the runway? Come to think of it...what airport is that? Maybe we should see about doing a rental there...

Thanks Tom.

It was Frederick Airport. I asked, but they wouldn't let me get out on the runway. The airport was actually open for business when were shooting. Planes landing all around us.

Check the video too:

BenzORama,

Excellent write-up and pics. That was rather amusing, your SL sounds like your true soul-mate (not sure if the wifey will like that LOL).

One question though, I wonder how the wheels would look with a Benz cap done in matte black chrome instead of the Vossen caps? Any thoughts on that?

I'm guessing you are running 265/40/18 drag radials and if that's the case the overall diameter is such a small difference when looking at a 305/35/18.(see link below). you are gaining alot in width while the sidewall remains almost the same. the 265/40 overall diameter is 26.34" and the 305/35 is 26.40" ....So show me how good they work and I'll finally get an LSD and dr set up to match. LOL....Not to go off topic, again your car looks amazing and it would really turn heads driving in with matching wheels right up to the line, or be even more of a terror on the local streets.

I like the understated Vossen caps. Not sure if the MB ones will fit either.
