Dyno Data for SL65

Preliminary results of tonights Dyno runs.....more to follow about the experience, hopefully including some video links.....also met some great people. Matt of Sloppy Mechanics.com and Chris of CB tuning.net. Both were a wealth of information and I will be seeing them a lot in the future.

2007 Väth SL65 AMG. 2007 BMW Alpina B5s. 2007 BMW M6.
That was very close to my results stock!
507 rwhp on 98 octane with about 80 degrees room temp.

Will be exciting to see what numbers you'll come up with after your mods!
Good Luck, and keep us posted!

Run one was in 4th gear and Run two was in third. I have been running Sunoco 93 octane. In 4th we almost ran into the "wall" of the Dyno so decided to do the second run in 3rd. I still wonder if this car was delimited somehow; just left stock otherwise. When I ran on Monday evening I broke the 180 mark with ease; just felt my butt pucker a bit and felt it was time to back off. I just wonder how far she would really go.
The others watching the runs couldn't believe how quiet it was. It definitely needs to loose the "sewing machine" routine

Video Clip

A link to a video clip of one Dyno Run....note the lack of noise other than the whine of the Dyno.

98+ octane - you are fortunate to have such high octane to play with

Sorry, could not get any torque numbers this time around. The wire we had to connect to to get a reading was not accessible. We will bring it to the top of the engine before we do any follow up Dyno testing

Which wire will you extend to the top of the engine?

Honestly I don't know. There was "a wire" that the Dyno operator had to "clamp" onto to get the torque reading but we couldn't access it without removing a lot of hardware from the top of the engine so we decided to pass on the torque reading. We are going to be doing a fair amount of work under the hood when we start the mods so when we are in there and have the proper tools Chris is going to bring "the wire" to the top so we can access it with the clamp next time. Others may know exactly what "the wire" is; I didn't ask at the time.
